What would you say is the goofiest creature power suit designs? For me either the Giraffe or the Eyed Flounder
Hmm… I'd have to say (in no particular order)
1. Hammerhead shark - I feel like it could've been better if instead of moving their actual eyes onto the side of their head, let them have cameras there instead, and then have a visor or something to show them what the cameras see. Like the whitetail deer suit, which gave Martin 310 degree vision, without moving the position of his eyes.
2. Immortal jellyfish - There's nothing wrong with the design of this suit, it looks fine. What I think is "goofy" about it is that it's completely useless. What is the point of this suit? They realized only seconds after activating that jellyfish can't even move, they just float and wait for stuff to happen. Their tentacles aren't even long enough to reach the button to deactivate, which is a huge safety concern especially since they have predators that can eat them. This suit is just a bad idea. There will never be a time where they need immortal jellyfish powers to save the day, nor would they ever activate for recreational purposes, because there is no fun in being a creature that cannot even move. So honestly I think they'd be better off just erasing the disc and using it to program another, more useful creature power suit.
3. Proboscis monkey - Does it look goofy as heck? Absolutely. Am I mad about it? Heck no. It's a freaking proboscis monkey. You can't be an adult male proboscis monkey and not have a proboscis. It's ugliness is a feature, not a bug. It's perfect the way it is.
4. Stingray - As strange as this suit looks, I honestly can't be mad because I don't even know how to fix it. Like, it's a stingray, their #1 creature power aside from their stinging tail barb is being flat enough to hide under the sand, so no matter what, the suit will have to be flat, and that will always look weird no matter how you spin it. This suit isn't so much poorly designed as much as it is just a victim of the fact that it's just a weird-looking animal with drastically different anatomy to humans that can't be easily translated and this is the best they could do. If anybody has or knows of any stingray suit re-designs, I would love to see them. If you could find a way to make this suit look less uncanny while still keeping the Wild Kratts style, I will be seriously impressed.
5. Butternut Tree - I'm sorry, I hate it. It's the only creature power suit I truly dislike. It's the face that does it for me. He should've kept his human face like in the Oak Tree power suit. The oak tree suit looked great and is iconic. The butternut tree suit looks ugly in my opinion. I'm sorry, I feel awful for saying anything so negative about this show, because it's my favorite show and I know it's made with so much love for a very noble purpose, so I really want to be supportive of it and it's creators, and I try to be optimistic even when it's flawed… but I have nothing positive to say about this suit.
I don't wanna end on a negative note, so let me say something positive about the Butternut Tree episode: I really enjoyed the song. Here's a link to an extended version of the song without lyrics, it's really good, you should give it a listen.
