Taking my old lady to the vet today 😭 she's started frequently thrashing in her sleep to the point she will throw herself off the couch or claw me up. My leg is covered in claw marks 🥲

Really hoping there's a medication that will help. I can't imagine what it's like for her. She recently had another mini stroke I think because she could barely walk for a few days. She bounced back tho but this thrashing has gotten real bad. Idk if it's seizures because I can interrupt them and wake her up.

I know I need to consider letting her go. I think she has dementia. She always seems confused and is extremely clingy to me. She's visibly scared to even go down the hall to the point I had to put a bowl of water near the couch because she wasn't drinking. I think she's partially blind. She can see me, follow my movement but she got right into the face of our black cat and didn't seem to notice him when normally she'd hiss or freak out.

Ugh. I know this is part of life but ugh. I've had her for 14 years. I still remember going to the shelter and she was one of the only cats eager to greet me. She was such a goofball.
