I've decided to split my art between creature paintings and designs, and more personal illustration pieces. I put up a few of my watercolours in the museum at a makeup convention last week end, and although it was terrifying and nerve-wracking, it felt pretty good to finally put up some of my traditional painting in a public setting. Painting truly is what makes me most happy, and I will do all I can to pursue it as a career, may it be in relation to prosthetics, or simply my own illustration work. I feel blessed to know exactly what I want to do in life, and I don't intend on throwing that away, no matter how hard it can get sometimes. A mother Lüngpar (aka the tropical lunging beast), protects her nest of hatchlings from the intruding Oshumootsi. Oshumootsi are centipede like apex predetors that dwell unrivaled in the swamps. Their keen sense of smell makes up for their lack of sight. They enntangle their pray by spitting a sticky substance on them. there chitinous armor is protection enough in the swamps. However should they stray from their swampy homes into the rainforests, they will find themselves no longer unrivaled, and quite out of their depth. One predator common to the rainforests is the Tropical Lunging Beast, more commonly called the Lüngpar. they are adept in camouflage, as is the Oshmootsi, but use their glowing whiskers to lure prey, before swiftly lunging to capture their prey. while primarily ambush predators they are incredibly swift afoot, as well as agile, with an incredibly strong leap, and adept climbers, with the ability to glide or leap from tree to tree. Their offspring hatch as cubs from soft eggs, fiercely guarded by their mothers. The mother is faster and more agile than the Oshmootsi,easily able to unbalance her foe, and remain out of striking distance. She can also easily attack both the soft underbelly of the Oshmootsi, as well as penetrate its armor with a sticky liquid of her own that is meant to both entangle and corrode through chitinous armor. The Oshmootsi has made a mistake in straying from its native swamp. The Oshmootsi was designed by Tala Dresher.
