Dug got into the ceiling. He gives them each a hug and explains that they have to stay because he could not handle it if they got hurt trying to stay with them. The little ones cry and they make all the masters and clones Pinky PromiseTM to make sure Anakin does not get any oowies (which fills the Masters with guilt and the clones think they are adorable so they go extra protective on Anakin during missions, saying "We cannot just break the Pinky PromiseTM).
after lector about attachment. Finally, when the ship taking Anakin leaves, they have to turn arround because Surpirse! A youngling decided that if her Ani was leaving, she was going with him! And when they take her back and try to leave again, Anakin stops the ship and walks around, pulling out hidden younglings that had stowed themselves away in the ship and hid themselves using the force (hide-and-seek is taken VERY seriously in the creche. Okay, but consider Creche Master AU where Anakin has been assisting at the Creche for years when the war starts and he gets drafted to fight and the younglings flip their shit. The go to the counsel with a powerpoint titled “Why Padawan Ani sould Stay with us nd not go to War”. They attach to Anakin’s legs and won’t let go. The stare at the Masters with big, teary eyes. They throw temper tantrums. They beg, plead and cry about loosing “their padawan”/“their big brother”. They receive lectors
Okay, I have FINALLY got around to this (yay!) since I have a small window of opportunity before my Mexican History final on Thursday. (I need to stop waiting until the last days to study but knowing this doesn’t translate to action.)
This was SO cute! I was pleasantly surprised when I opened up the tumbls to see that the 4 inbox messages weren’t for some potentially problematic shit I said (except one, but I liked that message too, tbh.)
THE PINKY PROMISE™, it is very important in the politics of the creche! Any violators are punished by getting no Anakin hugs D,: A punishment so cruel, most don’t even want to risk it! So you are damn sure that the troops will take this Promise to heart.
(”I protected you, sir…where’s my hug?”
“But Sir! The Pinky Promise™ is sacred.”
“…I’ll tell the younglings.”
“You sonova-fine, get over here!”)
The other Jedi hide their amusement, but they also start taking the promise seriously. Especially Yoda.
The stowaways become a regular nuisance, so much so that the crews have to check if there are any on board even if Anakin isn’t with them.
One time, a ship from the 501st flew into a war zone, unaware that there was a youngling on board, giggling about how surprised Ani is going to be to see them. After all, they were able to hide so well, why wouldn’t they be rewarded? Unfortunately, that isn’t what happened. The ship was taking heavy fire, and was starting to go down, fast. The youngling was terrified and reached out into the Force, subconsciously screaming for Anakin. Luckily for them, Anakin was in a nearby fighter and was able to hear the scream for help and rushed to save them. He didn’t have time to save the clones, only the youngling. The ship was going down and there was nothing he could do about it (they were already too close to the surface to make a reasonably safe crash landing).
The youngling clung to Anakin and was sobbing and shaking, Anakin was shaking, too, near tears but keeping them in to be strong for the kid. The youngling was one of the younger ones in his creche, and they often bonded over hide-and-seek, it was the youngling’s favorite game. After the battle, which Anakin was forced to stay on the cruiser since the youngling wouldn’t let go of him, Anakin returned to Coruscant.
Master Roncha nearly wept with relief when she saw Anakin carrying the youngling in his arms, safe. After a council meeting, Anakin chooses to stay on Coruscant to help the youngling recover from the near-death experience. They had nightmares and would often start crying if Anakin was too far away.
Anakin talked to Padme about the situation and she recommended a child psychologist to him, and he agreed. He invited the psychologist over to the Jedi Temple (the youngling would start to panic near any type of transportation) without the Council’s knowledge. He knew they wouldn’t approve, as it was an internal affair. So, the first session goes great, it was mostly just introductions and trying to make the youngling comfortable with the therapist. Anakin has already set up the weekly appointments when he is summoned to the Council Chamber.
Of course, they didn’t approve.
But Anakin pretty much says, “I recognise the council has made a decision, but given that it’s a stupid-ass decision, I’ve elected to ignore it,” and keeps the appointments going. When there therapist isn’t over, Anakin is still working with the younglings in the creche and getting stowaway youngling (SY) back into the groove of things. Kids are tougher, tougher than we ever give them credit for, and they are survivers. So, of course SY starts acting like a normal kid again, mostly, and the Masters see this as reason enough to cancel the appointments.
Anakin is having none of that and talks to Obi-Wan (who is on Coruscant to pick up his new padawan, Ahsoka Tano (voted #1 best in the creche by Anakin himself for 3 years straight)) to try and convince the council. While that is going on, Ahsoka joins Anakin in creche and shows the younglings how she is now a padawan (Anakin is so proud).
Obi-Wan is able to convince them to compromise, they get notes on the next session and observations on SY to see if they are actually improving. It works, and they allow the therapy to continue.
Once Anakin thinks that SY is ready, he sets out to return to the field, satisfied that he help his child (they are ALL his children, damnit). Except, it’s not as simple as that. Now, the younglings know what is going on out there, where their Ani heads off to. Is sent off to. And they don’t like it, not one bit.
So, starts operation:Stowaway, where the younglings hide themselves in the ships that dock at the Temple. They make themselves obvious, at first, so there isn’t a repeat incident like SY, and once the pilots start checking their ship every time, they start hiding more seriously. Master Yoda brings all the younglings in to talk to them, about how it was necessary that Anakin be out there in the field. But if there is one thing that the younglings learned from Anakin, it is to do what they feel is right, even in opposition to the Council. And do it in an Extra™ way.
They present a power point presentation on why Anakin Skywalker Should Stay With Them and Not Be Sent Into War, complete with awesome transitions. The Masters are impressed, regardless of how hard they try not to be.
Anakin comes back from a mission, and goes to the creche. He is immediately bombarded by the younglings, except for one. SY. They looks into Anakin’s eyes and tells him that Anakin needs therapy. He needs it and he knows because he can see it in his eyes. They saw those eyes in the mirror for a long enough time to recognize them.
SY and Anakin hug, and ask Padme if she knows any psychologists for him. He schedules an appointment for this week. He is doing this for the younglings only, he tells himself.
I’ll leave it as is for now. Thank you for the asks! I was able to mostly develop what it was that I wanted to do with the CW and gave me a way to achieve my goal :) (Hope you enjoyed this!)
