Replies to this long Sebastian post. I figured it’d be easier to put them all here.
jaena-eowyn said: Doesn’t it also kind of remind you of another certain fairy tale–a certain story about a beauty, and a Beast?? :D :D
Mmm, a little bit! For me, it’s more like Phantom of the Opera or Pet Shop of Horrors or something along those lines--I’m hoping for just a small moment of realization and not a full on “Sebastian is redeemed” type of ending.

Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it! :)
creoleprincess said: All of THIS! Okay… Except for one little thing. I don’t want Sebastian to mirror Hannah too much. I’m really not into it being a consumed soul that is influencing him in that sense. I want him to get there on his own because all of these humans that have affected him, especially número uno, Ciel.
Mmmmmm, I pretty much agree, to be honest! I’d like Sebastian to show a small act of changing because of his life with Ciel. (Rather like the very end of Season 1, or that cake in the rain seiyuu event story.) The thing is, I don’t know if it’s physically possible for a demon to change or grow like that. If demons really are incapable of growth and emotion, I figured having him consume another soul is one way to get around that.

@creoleprincess your post:Okay, Kuro fandom:

@miumiin reblogged your post:Okay, Kuro fandom:
#black butler#i used to say kuroshitsuji but idk i just stopped for some reason lol#lizzie#durless#bravat i guess??#i've never seen it spelled blavat before#dan the snake#he smol and v cute#plus i don't remember which snake donne is *sweats*
I’ve seen the snake’s name translated both ways--Donne and Dan are the same one! The little tiny one behind Snake’s ear. I believe Donne is technically correct, because John Donne is a famous literary figure, like Emily Dickenson, the Bronte sisters, Oscar Wilde, etc., and fits the name scheme.
I prefer Bravat, but Blavat is, I believe, the official translation.
If the 2CT is true, I wonder why he would want to impersonate his brother. According to primogeniture, he should get the earldom anyway. Or maybe he was jealous so he didn't want people to think they were left with the weak one. Like his remaining relatives would be that cold? Was it really just neglect?
And let's say he truly was freaking out because he didn't want Soma to see his brother in that photo? Why?? What's the harm in him knowing that he has a brother? He already more or less told Soma what happened to him, and he knows he lost his family. I'll admit that it is getting harder to deny the theory, but I wish it made more sense. As it stands, it seems like it was just shoehorned in. That's why I dislike it so much.
Yeah, I agree. There’s not much sense for our Ciel to take over his brother’s identity and it doesn’t really change much for the plot. And I don’t really want to think that our Ciel judged his family completely wrong if he thought they would be sad that he survived instead of his brother. But since I don’t like that theory very much, either, I’m biased of course. ;^^
About the photo, there might be other reasons aside from the 2CT for Ciel’s reaction. But yeah, we’ll see about whether the theory is true or not one day. And until then I hope it’s not. ^^

Agree, agree, and agreed! We all thought the dreamscape was exaggerating but nah, it was OC’s long ass flashback making RC look like some kind of saint. RC is acting exactly like the person in the dreamscape, if not worse, and I firmly believe Edward had good reason to not want him marrying Lizzie. It’s all adding up now B)
@aroturier said: Funny how no one else saw this coming. I mean we;ve been looking at the raw shit Yana's been dishing out for ten years now and there was always a deadly glass shard at least 6" long hidden in every sweet moment she's ever given us. Did they really thing she was going to roll over now and give us a happily ever after story?
It’s extremely funny! I can count on one hand the number of people who saw RC for the manipulative shit he was. But 90% of this fandom was just so desperate to believe in their “twins wuv 4ever” headcanon that they were willing to overlook and excuse everything RC did, no matter how obvious the lie or bad the crime. But now it blew up in their faces and they have to accept the cold, hard facts: RC and UT are bad people. Just because they’re their favs doesn’t make them morally better than the rest of the cast ;) A lesson well learned.
@creoleprincess
I will say that Sebastian did manipulate our Ciel into believing that he was responsible for his brother's death, which was a shitty thing to do. But the attackers and the cultists are ultimately to blame for all of this.
I think the word manipulation implies that Sebastian said those things with any sort of purpose, or that his understanding of the situation was clear and he lied in malice. It was clear from the two translations I’ve seen that Sebastian was relaying his understanding of the situation. I think it was unfortunate happenstance, but from Sebastian’s point of view, of course Our Ciel was the one who sacrificed him. Everyone else in the room, including the people responsible, were still faithful. Our Ciel was the only one with a clear wish. Our Ciel was the only person that Real Ciel meant anything to. His assumption and process of elimination was wrong, but I just don’t think he did it with ill intent. He didn’t appear until the worst had already happened, I don’t think it’s fair to expect him to be sensitive to a situation he had minimal context or understanding of.
