Northern lapwings put on aerial acrobatics during courtship—looping, diving, and tumbling through the sky like feathered stunt pilots. Nature’s own airshow!
CRESTED CAYUGA DUCKS Anas platyrhynchos domesticus ©Ideal Poultry
Crested Cayuga Ducks have spectacular, greenish-black plumage, which makes the adults one of the most beautiful of all poultry displays. They are one of the hardiest of all domesticated ducks and are active rustlers and foragers.
Plus, they look like they have bad toupees.
I may have a few of these coming my way - not the Crested version, but how cool are they. They really are the gorgeous iridescent green color.

Peacock blue merges with gold, Iffi official logo
The poster for Iffi 2012 has been designed by four-time national award winning art director Nitin Desai who has designed film sets for severalBollywood period films like ‘Devdas’, ‘Jodha Akbar’ and ‘The Legend of Bhagat Singh’.
The poster for the 43rd Iffi incorporates design elements from this year’s festival theme which is ‘The centenary of Indian cinema’.
After unveiling the poster, Mohan said, “It is the ingenuity of a gifted art director like Desai that today we have amongst us one of the best renditions of the identity of Iffi.”
“It is a continuation from our endeavour made last year to engage great talents to provide a new identity to Iffi and to create a vibrant look and feel of the festival,” he said.
Desai said, “This year, we are celebrating the centenary of feature films in India. In order to celebrate this momentous milestone, we have incorporated the filmstrip as an integral part of the design for Iffi, one that showcases the journey of our cinemaso far.”
He added, “The peacock, the official motif of the festival, is associated with beauty, grace, mysticism and pride. The feather of the beautiful crested bird, resembling the eye, served as inspiration for the colour palette wherein the peacock blue merges with the gold of celebrations in order to showcase the glory of hundred years of Indian films.”
Day 7: Araripe Manakin
Ok so the actual head fluff might be a little more uniform but maybe mine's a rebel? How about THAT?
