there was no choice to make.

warnings: trauma, mentions of blood, violence, fluff at the end.

pairing: spencer reid x reader

summary: spencer had a hard choice to make, but when you're a variable in the decision, it's not much of a choice.

blood was dripping down your head. you were taking hit after hit to your entire body from the man standing in front of you. no noise was registering, meaning you didn't hear the door infront of you break open.

nothing was going through your head. that is aside from the pain surging through you. your wrists were tied above your head and your feet barely reached the ground.

your vision was blurry, but it wasn't too blurry to see spencer infront of you. no matter how bad something was, it was never too bad that it got to the point where you couldn't register spencers face.

seeing him was like it brought you back to life. "y/n," he spoke in a calming tone, "morgan can you-" before he could even finish his sentence, derek was undoing the cuffs above your head.

spencers hands were placed firmly on your waist, and when you were finally released he picked you up bridal style. your arms instinctively wrapped around his neck. small whimpers leaving your mouth. "shh, shh. y/n, its alright. i've got you." he did have you. he always had you.

you woke up to pain in your abdomen, and a pounding headache. more importantly, you woke up to spencer reid by your side. "hey, hey. you feeling alright?"

"i've been better." you tried to laugh, but it became more of a cough halfway through.

"right."

"what happened?" you questioned. you remembered some of it.

"well, uhm. the unsub got you, and he took you to a warehouse. we found you, i shot him. he died. that's it." your heart sunk. spencer reid didn't kill unless it was a last resort.

"spence im so-"

"shush. it's okay. anyone would've done it, including you." he took a deep breath. "i did what i had to do."

you felt like shit. "i didn't mean to put you in a position where you had to make that choice."

"y/n/n, listen to me." he whispered moving to sit next to you. "he had you, and he was gonna kill you. there was never a choice to make."
