I am Utterly Sacred. An #altar piece celebrating my #survival of the #medicalindustrialcomplex and four days last week of being in the Intensive Care Unit. #consent and #disability is exhausting and complicated- they were working to save my brain/body, but in that they gave me medications and treatments without my consent. #transphobic medical professionals handled my body with disgust when I wasn’t able to move my own body, completely vulnerable. So I’m #recovering from what’s haunting me. The altar is representing my survival, as well as a way for me to honor all the people who stayed with me, loved me, and tried to shield me from the scary #ableism and transphobia.
