okaY BUT BROS <333 

I literally feel like Ned would nOT be where he is today, if it was for Cris? Like when he becomes king (i mean when he thinks he’s gonna become king like dmitrei ruins that one like #whoops), Cris would literally be his hand okay. And besides Ric, Ned doesn’t care for anyone more (I don’t wanna say he likes Cris more than Rob but ... he likes Cris more than Rob ;DD) 

I do feel like Ned realizes, now, that they did Rob a disserve in kinda ~neglecting him, but Ned is very much an ~ends justifies the means~ type of guy anymore and yes, Rob suffered for it and he’s a problem, but in the end, he and Cris helped more ppl by being hella attentive to the south than being hella attentive to Rob (altho that’s liTeraLLY gonna come back and bite them both #barretproblems) (I’m not 100% sure of the timeline, but I’m thinking that Ned will probs die after Ana, but before they find out that it was Rob who killed Ana?)

But yeah, basically Ned does realize that Rob is a problem and spends 1/2 of his time apologizing for him, but he does NOT realize just how big of a problem he is. 

oKAY, so I also think that Cris is def the leader when Ned’s not around (both within the Mortain castle and the resistance haha) and Ned trusts him with everything and I think he always has? And icry b/c there’s a big age gap and I think that Cris might have grown up earlier than he would have, otherwise, if Ned didn’t rely on him so much? Like the Mortains are idiots/dead and literally the entire south has been put in their hands and lakdjflakjsdflLFAJDLFKAJDLFKj I’m emotional especially since they’ve basically given their entire lives to the south and neither of them are gonna get out of this happy and why am I surprised?!?!? (spoiler alert: i’m not)

Sandy Toes, Salty Kisses | Ana & Cris

Discarding her shoes upon the sand, Ana walked barefoot into the warm water. It was calm and bright and beautiful today after the brutal southern storm of the night before. Looking up at the cloudless sky and hearing the distant call of the gulls, it was hard to believe that the weather there was not always so perfect. 

She felt the spray of the salt water on her fingertips and tasted it in the breeze. Ana wanted to see all of Aragoth before she died, but home would always by here, by the sea. 

She had only once been out of the South. Her mother had promised her since she was very little that she would one day take her to the Imperial City and when she was nine years older, her mother had finally deemed her old enough. She had been roused before dawn and placed securely in front of her mother aside her dragon. All of Aragoth looked so small from that great height and it was enough that she quickly dismissed the idea of sleeping. She was there at the capital on Dragon's Day. Or, the Last Dragon's Day, as it was called now. There used to be an annual celebration of the dragons and their riders, for they had been known as the Creator's own upon earth. 

But since their betrayal, the feast day hadn't been celebrated. And until there was a new dragon rider, Ana was glad of it. Cassius Montagu and Rhaegar did not deserve it. 

"If I had known you were going to be serious the entire time, I would have brought Ivette instead," She said teasingly, plopping down into the sand next to him, her golden curls blowing in the breeze. She knew his mind was elsewhere. His younger brother had found a dragon egg and although it had not hatched, it could mean that they finally had a way to oppose the Queen ... but if word spread before it hatched, it would mean the death of them all. 

It had been too long since it had been just the two of them, on their own, but Ana had finally dragged him away today. The timing was not ideal, but then it never would be.

LOL wow so Margery def enjoys ruling the south but she's more than content to let the Barrets deal with the boring things and so she's probably nice enough to cris but this is bc she 1) doesn't know that he wants his bro to be king and 2) he's engaged to Ana whoops

Dragon Egg | Rob & Cris

Dezód had made a dragon egg appear out of thin air after Rob had agreed to the terms and now his treasure was tucked safely in his cloak. The sorcerer had promised him that  the egg would hatch in three days time. 

He rode hard and fast back to Swystone, where he stopped visited Lia Carnet before returning to the rebel camp. 

Most evenings, the resistance would meet there: in the ruins of a once grand castle that had been more beautiful than practical and had fallen to the storms of the south. 

"Where are the others?" He asked, looking about the deserted camp. He had expected to see them all there: waiting. But when he arrived, he saw that only his brother Cris was there by the fire. Rob had planned to make a great announcement to show them all what he had found and to see their faces as they looked upon him: the savior of the south. But Rob was not a patient man. 

Turning back to Cris, Rob looked him in the eye and said, "Brother, I have found something."

okay, so how do you think Alexandir and Cris would get on??? i mean, on one hand he did (eventually) lead them to victory but at the same time he's a Godiva and his own niece is Rowena and #funfamilyconnections

ELYNE IS SO HAPPY THAT THERE'S GOING TO BE A WEDDING AND OMG CRIS AND ANA LOVE EACH OTHER SO MUCH AND SHE'S SO PLEASED ABOUT ALL OF THIS. Also, I feel like she was an orphan herself and kinda thinks of the resistance as her family and is basically like ~the barrets are like my bros and just wants all of them to be happy (even Rob -- literally like the only person who wants this) ALL THE TIME.

So, beyond what we briefly said about these two, I think that Rob probably has good days and bad days with his bros. Like I can see them having their moments when they are all chilling/celebrating (especially like right after they all conquered the southern isles) together, I think that -- for the most part -- Rob gets on pretty well with them (until he makes an ass out of himself when he tries to flirt with Brigette or he's sulking b/c he's embarrassed himself on the battlefield/training field). 

I really don't think that Rob understands any kind of love at all, but he def thinks he loves his brothers and he probs legit cares about the two of them more than he cares about anyone else in the world, but I don't know that he actually loves them (as his future actions will prove).
