If the winter is brisk rather than bitter, if there are only a few well-placed snowflakes, I find it possible to enjoy the scene. It looks best at dusk when the shop windows are orange and the sky glows violet and the leafless trees blossom with electric buds. Then, for a moment, one can believe, if not in universal peace and goodwill, at least in a temporary suspension of hostilities.
- Quentin Crisp
You know how some people aren’t into the holidays or Christmas at all?
What if there was Crispmas? A time of the year to forget all the holiday malarkey and celebrate crispy, deep fried food. Fried chicken? Hell yeah. Deep fried Oreos? You bet. Fried asparagus? Aw yeah. And don’t forget about fried rice, fried pickles, and everything else that can be fried. It’d be a holiday especially celebrated to replace Christmas and the other holidays of that month. And people could have festive parties where all the food is deep fried. Except for beverages because that would be kind of weird and impossible, I guess? Unless it’s deep fried water which can be done. But this holiday can be revered all year! Every time you eat something fried it’s just one step closer to Crispmas - a deep fried holiday extravaganza.
