big fan of robin being the one to see crocodile on bad days - his lowest points, especially when he struggles to take care of himself because of his disability. and how socially that disability is associated with his success and morality - hes a pirate who lost a limb, clearly he's a failure. or at least thats what rings in the back of his head everytime he glances down. he had to replace it with something vicious and threatening otherwise the thoughts would take over. but they always get worse when he has a bad day of phantom pain or something, where he cant coordinate himself and function in his day-to-day and he needs help. and asking for help is his biggest fear but its even worse because robin doesn't see that feature of him as anything morally indicative. its just a neutral part of his body. anyway

no but seriously i’ve actually listened to dean martin a lot during my fallout hyperfixation era and now he comes back to haunt me again…

i can’t believe how well this song fits crocbin… the sunset. the pyramids. the line ”I’ll be alone without you. maybe you’ll be lonesome too”

even when they’re far away from each other it’s impossible for them not to think of each other after 4 years of being partners

i can see crocodile’s thoughts wandering a lot to robin and how things ended between them while in impel down. there’s literally nothing to do but think in his cell, but the first time his mind wanders to her he’s taken back, because he was convinced he didn’t really care that much about her (unreliable narrator smh)

after that he has a lot of time just coming to terms with the fact that he might actually miss her…

he never talks about it ever, but fast forward to when the cross guild has been formed, crocodile sometimes finds himself absentmindedly scribbling something down and suddenly it’s turned into a full letter and then he just sighs and seals it before putting it away in a box with the others (all addressed to her)

he just goes back to work like nothing’s happened after that (but mihawk sometimes catches him sighing and muttering to himself and he really really wants to ask who the hell crocodile fumbled to warrant that kind of behavior)

as for robin… well it’s pretty much the same thing plus my earlier hc, but she has a far better support system obv
