Some Baroque Works Nationality Headcanons + some additional lore

Sir Crocodile "Mr. 0":

Italian

Was the leader of a small pirate crew, all of which were killed during a clash with Whitebeard

It was during this same battle that he lost his left hand, and got the scar on his face

A bit of a gourmet

Has other prosthetics suited for different tasks (eg cooking)

Only child

Raised by his mother, who kept all details about his father from him

Has never shown anyone the scarring/stump where his left hand used to be

Has loved bananawanis since he was a kid

Uses the mushrooms he collects in his cooking

Galdino "Mr. 3":

Italian/Iranian

Taught in classical art as a child, during which he took particular interest in sculpture (would later incorporate his knowledge into his fighting style with his Devil Fruit)

While he may chastise her for her occasional laziness, he is fond of Miss Goldenweek and considers her as family of sorts

Is mildly afraid of Crocodile and Daz

Learned a lot of recipes for pasta dishes from his mother, and likes to make those same dishes for Miss Goldenweek and some other Baroque Works members when they're taking a break from missions

Would give short art lessons to Marianne

Keeps a log with everyone's birthdays written in

Marianne "Miss Goldenweek":

French

Picked up her love for art from her father

Developed her hypnosis technique herself

Quite fond of Galdino

Was initially surprised to be offered at Baroque Works, but soon accepted

A big fan of Baroque, Rococo and Impressionist art

Sometimes helps Mikita and Vivi with their hair

If she likes someone a lot (platonically or otherwise) she will occasionally share her snacks with them

Has made one or two paintings for Crocodile

Gem "Mr. 5":

Somalian/American

His parents were firefighters, which is what inspired his dream to become one himself

Uses bodily substances like snot and saliva to make bombs using his Devil Fruit because it's funny seeing others' reactions

He and Mikita are thick as thieves, and when not on missions, like to play poker or compare different chocolate brands

Ate his Devil Fruit out of curiosity and immediately recoiled after the first bite (says that was the most disgusting thing he's ever eaten in his life)

Wears sunglasses both out of general necessity, but mainly to look cool

Mikita "Miss Valentine":

South African

Her favourite colour is yellow

Youngest of three

Ate her Devil Fruit as a child and used to accidentally reduce her mass exponentially while learning to control her abilities, causing her to fly away in strong winds

Aside from lemon tea, she generally loves lemon-favoured foods

Has a massive sweet tooth

Sometimes helps Gem with his hair

Comes from a family of bakers and chocolatiers

Igaram "Mr.8":

South African

Speaks English, Zulu, Afrikaans and Arabic

Has known Cobra and been friends with him since the two were children

Sees the Nefertaris as family

Can play saxophone and piano

He and Terracotta were childhood friends, and he developed a crush on her when the two became adults

Has a younger brother whom he lost contact with a few years after he left home

Likes trying dishes from all over the world

Picked up some sewing skills from Terracotta

Cobra taught him Arabic

"Miss Monday":

Zimbabwean/Nigerian

Her real name is Tariro

Raised Protestant and became a nun, but left her faith behind when she left her hometown to find fortune elsewhere

Developed a small crush on Mr. 9 a few years after the other joined

Was the one to bring up the idea of having children when she and Mr. 9 got together

Has an older sister who also became a nun

After the dissolution of Baroque Works, she began wearing more dresses and makeup to feel pretty

"Mr.9":

Zimbabwean

Real name is Enoch

Joined Baroque Works because he needed a job after losing his family young

Started crushing on Miss Monday when the two hung out together after a mission - she fell first, he fell hard - and was the one to confess first (brought flowers and everything)

A bit of a romantic

Considers Vivi as a friend and one day hopes to find the courage to send her a personal letter asking how she's doing

His parents were acrobats at a travelling circus, which is what ultimately inspired his style and choice of weapon

Nefertari Vivi "Miss Wednesday":

Egyptian

Spent a lot of time in her family's library as a child and would ask Igaram to read to her

Speaks English, Arabic and Afrikaans (learned the latter from Igaram)

Has a few memories of her mother from before she died, mostly of her reading stories to her (like Igaram would later do) and singing lullabies

Had been the one to convince Igaram to join her in infiltrating Baroque Works

Got Karoo as a birthday present from her parents and the two have been inseparable since

Sometimes reminisces on her time in Baroque Works, specifically the fun, intimate moments with agents like Mr. 9, Miss Monday and Miss Goldenweek (eg game nights, eating out at restaurants etc)

The first one on the left is....Mr 10 his name is made ...he's inspired by his concept art but I made up everything else up like the colours and name and hair style and beside him Mr 9...then it's Mr 6 yes I decided to make Mr 6 a half human half alicorn mink I know it's strange but fuck it his name is Gaston next to him is Mr 5 aka gem and next to him is bon clay aka Mr 2 then daz bones aka Mr 1 and then Mr 3~ galdino and then Mr 4 is beside Mr 3 aka Bebe next to him is Mr 7 who I named Francis and Mr 8 is beside him yes igaram and behind them on the left is Mr 11 let's name him diamond I love em and Mr 12 he's made up entirely....his name is Percy he's non human he's a demon
