My first big Lillycat girl, I’m so excited to finally be bringing home an Ellana! A dream color too, Dark Turquoise, “Tealy” Blues are my most favorite fantasy resin colors of all. I’m BIG time happy with her! Also as a little aside, Ellena was one of my top picks for a possible shell for my character, Herla, back in the day! Was looking forward to a cozy Friday night working on knitting whilst wrapped in a blanket and covered in bulldogs. But, weather had other plans, it started snowing at 11AM and just didn’t stop. On my drive home from work that evening, the trees, still with their leaves, now with their branches bowed to the ground under the weight of 6 inches of snow. We set a new record for snow in October here. “No knitting tonight, lots of trees are going to break, we’ll be loosing power for sure.” And we did, for most of the night. Twigling Mini-Pieta, my best girl this summer. She returned from the lovely @eludys in June and I’ve been carrying her around with me ever since. Made her these dragon scale stitch gloves and leg warmers. When I took up learning to knit I started this sweater for her. Then it sat for a few weeks because I was intimidated to start the next step: knitting a Fair Isle style yoke with stranded color work. Do I know what I’m doing? NO, not at all, but I’m determined to try! I have been watching @s_milahomedoll’s IG for over a year now, delighted by her homemade and hand casted resin Ball Jointed Dolls. I knew someday one would need to come home to live with me. I choose her sculpt, Julia, in this lovely dark chocolate resin color. What a beautiful doll and so fun to pose and play with, I love her size so much too. I’ve dressed my Julia in clothes I’ve made but if you prefer your doll to come with an outfit, I really encourage you to check @s_milahomedoll’s page out, she makes lovely full package dolls that include, faceup, eyes, wig (magnetic!), outfit, shoes, and even a stand. My cutie pie Bunyol in her new wig. I knew if I ever got a Chocolate resin Bunyol, I wanted to have a wig from Oobie Doll for her, she has created some of the best “natural hair” style wigs I have seen. Angie was very sweet and took on my custom order for this tiny scale wig. I’m not sure if it’s Goat Mohair or Teeswater Sheep fiber, but these are some dang tiny ringlets and I love the look of the light colored tips. ... Bunyol is also modeling my latest knitting WIP, adventures in Fair Isle style Stranded Color Knitting continue. I am very pleased with the overall fit of this sweater, it’s nice when something actually turns out as you had envisioned it your mind. With this piece I also started experimenting with different ways to capture my floats, twisting the strands to keep things more tidy. I also tried out creating a gradient effect with my colors in the yoke, I’m really excited to explore that more in future works. Now the not so fun parts of color work...gotta weave in all these strings at the end 😭🙈 I’ll use the Kitchener Stitch to close the under arms. This first sleeve is done...but only this tiny amount of yarn left. No biggie, I’m sure I can just order some more...oh heck no, it’s sold out EVERYWHERE, simply can’t be found, nope, no how! 😭 Scheepjes River Washed yarn in the color Steenbras #942, you’re my favorite so of course you allude me 🤷🏻‍♀️😆 I think I’ll probably be able to get another sleeve? But definitely not enough to finish the entire thing. Oye! But anyhow, wanted to make Blue Lady something special and explore my new knitting hobby.
