My cutie pie Bunyol in her new wig. I knew if I ever got a Chocolate resin Bunyol, I wanted to have a wig from Oobie Doll for her, she has created some of the best “natural hair” style wigs I have seen. Angie was very sweet and took on my custom order for this tiny scale wig. I’m not sure if it’s Goat Mohair or Teeswater Sheep fiber, but these are some dang tiny ringlets and I love the look of the light colored tips. ... Bunyol is also modeling my latest knitting WIP, adventures in Fair Isle style Stranded Color Knitting continue. I am very pleased with the overall fit of this sweater, it’s nice when something actually turns out as you had envisioned it your mind. With this piece I also started experimenting with different ways to capture my floats, twisting the strands to keep things more tidy. I also tried out creating a gradient effect with my colors in the yoke, I’m really excited to explore that more in future works. Now the not so fun parts of color work...gotta weave in all these strings at the end 😭🙈 I’ll use the Kitchener Stitch to close the under arms. HAPPY MAIL! MONDAY Finally I have the Stone/River Wash yarn in my hands. Hehe so excited because I’ve never used it before and this will be used for a VVCAL blanket taking from all three years Mrs @cypresstextiles has created. So excited. However I’ve realized with this order that despite all my great efforts to get all remaining yarn needed for my blankets I forgot one. Yep one little Cotton8 color 671 Rust for my Callie Blanket. After discovering that even though I purchased as the pattern suggested and my measurements are right on target for the motifs of the hexi’s I seem to be short on yarn. So I went and purchased one more skein of each color to only find out today I forgot Rust 671. Now when I ran into being short I did the one thing I thought silly that some makers and creators do, buy a scale and weigh every skein. I found another skein in my bunch is 5 grams short which makes me think it may have happened in other skeins. Yes the things we do for our creations. This year I am managing to use many different Scheepjes Yarns. I’m very excited to have the opportunity to do so. I will get to use these Stone/River Wash yarn, cotton8 yarn, Catona, Whirls, Whirlettes, Bamboo Soft, Sugar Rush, and Colour Crafter! Oh and sooner or later Cagliari, I have the kit for Kaleidoscope Mandala by @hanjancrochet in the jewels colourway!
