Freckles?: yes! so many XD

Scars?: actually, yes! Full body scars, from the upper chest down. She was mauled by a bear when she was young, trying to protect another kid from her clan (they were both young hunters). She somehow survived, but has extreme scarring from the attack.

Tattoos/Piercings?: Just the vallaslin

What kind of clothing do they wear? What's their style?: Generally simple clothing, trousers, wraps, casual, usually sleeveless when working out or in warmer places.

for @cullenromancersocmonth day 3: backstory!

Yelena, unlike her Brother, was born in Nevarra and for the first years of her life, her small family stayed there. Later on they reunited with the Clan, both children speaking not only elvhen but also nevarran, roaming the Planascene Forests of the Free Marches.

After they returned from Nevarra her brother took up his studies to be the First of Clan Lavellan, and later on Keeper, Yelena soon after becoming his Second.

When Yelena went to Nevarra again later on in her life because of her own means of study, she had a short (and somewhat unhealthy) romance with a Templar. She had been accompanying a Senior Enchanter from Orlais when she met Yelena. Other than that she has had a small fling during a Grand Tourney once.

There were a couple of moments that shaped who Yelena is, but the most important are when her Brother was taken away to a circle and she chased after him to get him back again and when she dreamt through the whole winter, and only waking up again through the help of spirits she had appeased before, rising from the blanket of snow like an early bloom herself.

Yelena went to the Clonclave by means of a vision quest. Originally, her older brother Ilya, the first of Clan Lavellan, was tasked to go to the Conclave. As the days grew closer to his departure, Yelenas (prophetic) dream repeated itself over and over and over again to the point that she was convinced it showed her his death, to which she decided to go in his stead. CROC Month - Relationships

weeee I've been meaning to put this together for days and days but we're here now it's okay yay

Soooo their faces are the relationship at the beginning of the story/when they first meet, and the center is how they end up. Cordelia is very friendly haha.

Top Three Significant Relationships for Cordelia:

Kiara, Second of Clan Lavellan

(Screenshots of her in the AU where she is the Inquisitor. She romances Solas, hence her lack of vallaslin in VG. Canonically, her Mythal vallaslin remain inked into her face.)

As mentioned in Cordelia's backstory, Kiara is Second to Keeper Deshanna. She and Cordelia grow very close as First and Second, as close as sisters. The plan, before the Conclave, was that when Cordelia became the Keeper, Kiara would be her second-in-command and oversee the warriors and hunters, so her training is more combat-oriented. Cordelia's time with the Inquisition, understandably, puts a strain on their relationship. It is never quite the same, seeing as Kiara becomes First and Cordelia's life is on a far different path than anyone anticipated, but they are able to reconnect.

2. Solas

This mf... Cordelia is immediately drawn to him when they first meet. He's intriguing and sometimes infuriating--they spend much of their early travels together debating matters of the Dalish and magic and the Fade. She develops a crush on him (she had two crushes at the time, yes), which leads to a kiss in the Fade. But she knows her worth and she doesn't want to waste her time with someone less than committed to pursuing a romantic entanglement with her, so she ends things. After some ✨space ✨, they remain friends and grow extremely close. He trains her in rift magic and helps her hone her intrinsic Dreamer abilities. Cordelia loves hard, and she loves him very much. Their bond is very strong. So strong that she allows Morrigan to drink from the Well because he is insistent that she not drink. So strong that he tells her the truth about her vallaslin. That hurts, but she would rather hurt than live in ignorance. It hurts more when he disappears with no word and no trace. I'll save any further discussion for my post about the future, but... yeah.

3. Dorian Pavus

You know him, you love him. That goddamn Tevinter. Cordelia is, at first wary... Tevinter isn't known for a love of elves, but Dorian manages to remain hopeful and positive (outwardly anyway) in the dark future and that is admirable and also she's grateful for it. They become fast forever friends. I feel like this is common for a lot of Inquisitors!

Nicknames/Aliases/Titles: Vherevin Storm-Crow (to the Avvar), Inquisitor Lavellan, Comtesse Lavellan of Kirkwall, Evin (from Dorian), V (from Sera), Boss (from Bull), Lethallen (from Solas, Cullen and clan mates), Tempest (from Varric), Vher, vhen'an, vher'lin, sweetheart, pet (all from Cullen), da'evune (Stolen Child AU Cullen only), hahren (from Fawn Ingellvar), linalin, lili (from their daughter)

Age: 27, born 30 Drakonis 9:14, Dragon

Class/Specialization: Mage/Knight-enchanter

Gender Identity: Non-binary

Sexuality: Omnisexual

Accent: Since the Dalish are presented with Welsh and Irish accents, I went with a blend of Saoirse Ronan’s cadence and Ruth Negga’s deeper vocal range. Vher’s is low in pitch and tenor, and their speech pattern rhythmical, with a quick beat. When what they have to say carries weight, they slow down and speak with careful consideration - something I think Ruth does beautifully when she speaks in interviews. When Vher is forced to do vocal training and elocution lessons, I imagine Alix Wilton Regan’s voice as their “courtly voice,” to hide their Dalish upbringing - per Josephine’s advice.

Skin Tone: Olive brown

Hair Colour/Texture/Length: Wavy white hair that goes down to their thighs. I headcanon that each Dalish clan holds different traditions, much like irl indigenous people do, so my version of Clan Lavellan keeps their hair long, for that’s where they believe the spirit is. When Vher’s hair is cut, as I’ve shown in some of my art, it’s because something has happened and they are grieving, or it’s symbolic of a great change in their life, so they have a few different hairstyles throughout the years.

Eye Colour: Pale violet, the center ring almost glows. As elves and dwarves see well at night (though for different reasons), only elves’ eyes reflect light back in low lighting and at night. Vher’s reflect back seafoam green.

Height: 5 foot nothing

Body Type: Athletic like a gymnast’s

Freckles? Everywhere. They also have a birthmark in the shape of a heart at the nape of their neck!

Scars? Several. The first four they acquired from the blast at the Conclave: left side of their jaw, left shoulder, chipped ear, and the underside of their right forearm. The next two were from the Battle of Haven, when the red lyrium dragon attacked, Vher was blasted back and landed on their head, getting that iconic Gay Eyebrow Scar, and when Corypheus threw them against the trebuchet, their armor broke and bit into their skin, creating a large gash across their shoulder blades. Next scar is a little arrow wound that just missed their lungs, on the right side of their mid-torso. They got that one from a Red Templar on the way to the Shrine of Dumat with Cullen. The left side of Vher’s torso got torn up from the battle with the Saarebas during Trespasser - the blast from the Anchor weakened their armor. And finally there’s the scars from the Anchor as it was killing them - it connects to their left shoulder scar.

Tattoos/Piercings? Vallaslin in the same color as their eyes. Their patron Evanuris was Ghilan’nain, who they were once proud to worship. I designed a full-body vallaslin for Vherevin - it covers their chest, arms, thighs and upper back. Another headcanon is that some clans denote Keeper, First and Second status with spools, or what we call plugs/gauges today. When Vher was an apprentice, they wore black obsidian spools, and later, Deshanna sends them white jade spools - that which a Keeper wears - for their 27th birthday, a few weeks after being declared Inquisitor. Vher’s ears are later pierced a few more times - conches and flats. They have a septum piercing, and two years before the events of Veilguard, acquire two more additional nose rings, for a total of thirteen piercings on their body.

Name meaning: Esfir means star "a light that guides" (a name given to her by De'shanna when she found her as a small child) and Siofra was given to her by her mother, it means "fairy".

Nicknames/Aliases/Titles: Esfee (Vaelan/Sera), Fir (Cullen), Sprite (Varric), Mothlady (Sera)

Age: 29 at the Conclave

Class/Specialization (if applicable): Mage, Inferno Necromancer, a death doula.

Gender Identity: she/her

Sexuality: bisexual (newly minted)

Accent (add voice claim, if you have one): Jodie Comer

Positive Character Traits: deeply compassionate, resilient, loyal, introspective, protective, charming.

Neutral Character Traits: morally unconventional, private, confrontational.

Negative Character Traits: escapism, emotionally withdrawn in crisis, prone to guilt and doubt, overextends herself, struggles with control.

Lots of loose fabric pieces held up by belts or scarves, easy to move in or take off. White is worn when she’s performing rites. Sunset color palette, lots of gold jewelry and trinkets, but most are mismatched.
