So I’ve only been in this fandom like a month and a half but I am so beyond sick of all this unrelated cross-tagging! If anyone wants to join me I’m gonna start commenting asking people to stop! If it’s a pic of Roger Taylor, Joe or whoever and doesn’t have Rami in it don’t tag them. If it’s a post about Rami DON’T tag Roger. It works both ways! You aren’t going to get more likes by cross-tagging, you’re just pissing people off!!!!

This isnt little related exactly? BUT because we all know my love of cross tagging and anything that has to go with it and I feel some people need to hear this story...

I had to talk to somebody today because they had cross tagged and it landed a minor on their incredibly BDSM blog. Obviously said minor came to me and explained the situation and I helped them with it all and so forth, and so I NICELY messaged this person explaining cross tagging and explained what happened with it causing a minor to go onto their blog and they answer was, wait for this...

"People today need to stop being such sensitive snowflakes"

WHAT.

A MINOR, somebody under the age of 18 (14 if we wanna be exact) was introduced to stuff that is well beyond their time, is currently causing them mental distress, and so much more, and they're being a snowflake? I cannot wrap my head around this.

If you think cross-tagging is chill, please unfollow me (if you're not sure ask questions I'm more than happy to explain, I like educating). There's a thousand reasons cross taggings not okay, but come on, there's no reasons for minors to be lead to kink

Kind of an obvious thing, but please don’t be the kind of users who cross-tag negative things into irrelevant shipping and character tags, or who don’t tag plain character hate with ‘anti’ tags.

Everyone’s entitled to their opinion, but purposefully seeking to say hateful things (and I mean plain hate, not even argumentation) about something people enjoy in the face of said people isn’t being smart, or engaging. It’s being an entitled ass.

We have a tag system for a reason.

I just thought of a way to (maybe) fix the accidental cross-tagging issue, what with how - for example - ‘anti sheith’ will still come up in the ‘sheith’ tag (because search apparently searches for words separately), and ‘sheith’ of course will come up in the ‘anti sheith’ tag.

How about this: Let the shippers have their tags. So ‘sheith’ shippers maintain the ‘sheith’ tag - no more ‘anti sheith’ business, etc. Instead, if you’re ‘anti sheith’ just use ‘htiehs’. (It almost sounds like ‘haties’ if you try to pronounce it! That’s cool, right? Hate?) You could easily integrate the rule of using the backwards spelling of the ‘ship’ tag as the ‘anti’ tag.

I think they blocked me (my main is captainherasyndulla). Nice move, insulting me and then not allowing me to defend myself. I tried to reply twice and tagged them both times, but neither worked.

Anyway, what I said in response was that, to me, being an anti is not about "shitting on people" (which I try to avoid doing, never using harsh language and trying to explain my side rationally), and more about combating racist, sexist, and problematic behavior from fans.

I have never cast the first stone, unless you count asking people politely to stop cross-tagging as such.

I don't care if you like a problematic character; it becomes a problem when you excuse or somehow try to justify said behavior and refuse to acknowledge it.

However, many times people choose to see antis as the problem and merely block us rather than hearing our side out and debating politely and rationally like a decent human being.
