WOD for Thursday July 18th
HERO WOD - NATE: 20 minute AMRAP 2 MUSCLE UPS 4 HSPU 8 KB SWINGS (70 lbs bell) This was my last day at CrossFit RXD. I will definitely come back and visit whenever I'm up in the Anaheim office doing work. This is a great box with great coaches that treated me like one of their own. I want to thank everyone at CrossFit RXD specially Nyra and Cass who were the coaches during the 6am class while I was there. The WOD is too advanced for a noob like me so Nyra helped me modify the heck out of it. I'm prolly a solid 8 months away before I can do my first muscle up and handstand push ups are almost impossible since I can't even do a handstand. So instead of 2 muscle ups, I did 4 dips like a true level one crissfitter. Then, my HSPU were basically my knees on the edge of a 30" tall box while I place to top of my head on the floor. Then I push myself up as if I were doing upsidown presses. Finally for the kettle bell swings I used the 70 lbs bell and man-handled it like it owed me money. My total reps were 8 rounds plus 9 reps of the 9th set. What I liked about this workout is that it gives me a little taste of what CrossFit is gonna feel like for me in September when I plan to move up to level 2. I'm gonna have to modify most of my movements just like when I joined level 1. We can only get better if we push ourselves just beyond our comfort zone.
