Jackgroaned and continued to ignore Baby Tooth trying to get his attention.

“No,really, I mean it.” she said “Tooth didn’t want us here to do nothing.“

“Iknooooow.” Jack said, his eyes lazily closed. “I just don’t wanna get up.”

“Why not?”

He gentlynuzzled his head against her feathers. “You’re too comfy.”

Merida gavethat throaty laugh of hers.

They werelying on the humongous cushions of the Tooth Palace, Merida on her tummy andJack propped up on her wings. Toothiana had had to go to the North Pole becauseNorth needed her help with something, and she had given the responsibility tolook over the tooth fairies to the Guardians of Fun and Love.

Toothianaprobably hadn’t planned on said Guardians lazily flopping onto the cushions thesecond they arrived and then having problems getting up again.

Jacklistened to the comforting sound of her laugh, at least until something pokedhim forcefully into the cheek.

His eyessnapped open. “Hey!”

Baby Toothlooked admonishingly down at him. They exchanged a quick look.

“Alright,alright, I’m getting up alright, you need to calm down.” Jack muttered.

He pickedhimself up, stretching, and looked back down on Merida. She rolled around onher back, her wings perking and fluttering.

Jackreached out a hand, and she was quick to grab it. He pulled her up, right intohis arms.

“Let’s getto work.” she said, grinning up at him.

Jackpressed a kiss to her temple. “Yeah, let’s do that.”

I did it because of this vine, but I slowly realized that this could easily happen in-universe. Well, I’m not sure about Bill becoming a police officer, but Rick would certainly do this.

Mericcup substitutions masterpost

As we all know, shipping Mericcup is basically hell, because we all know it will never be canon. It’s like having a favorite food that doesn’t actually exist. But here are some pairings that are close enough to satisfy me, personally.

Want a prehistoric AU? Try The Croods. Chris Sanders, a co-director of HTTYD, co-directed this one as well, and you can definitely see some Hiccup in Guy. Eep is also inspired by Merida.

Eleanor & Park is an adorable yet believable novel of young love written by Rainbow Rowell. To be completely honest, the cover (featuring a curly+red-haired girl and a thin dark-haired boy) is why I read it, and you could easily imagine your favorite crossover ship inserted here.

The HTTYD novels by Cressida Cowell also subsitute well. Camicazi, one of Hiccup’s best friends, is more similar in personality to Merida than Astrid (imo). While no romance occurs, they’re still a great team.

If you’re into unrequited crushes, nerd-baby Dipper of Gravity Falls crushes on Wendy, who has three younger brothers and a hulky dad, all of whom are plaid-clad gingers. So… take that as you may.

If you like pain (who in these fandoms doesn’t?), the archer Ygritte first appears in Game of Thrones’ second season, and becomes a forbidden love interest to Jon Snow, who’s not too much like Hiccup, but… Take what you will. No spoilers, but you may not like where this one goes.
