WIP Q’s Tag Game
tagged by @lemon-i-scream thank you thank you thank you and sorry for taking so long!!
1. Describe the plot in one sentence.
Quinn’s family has been hiding something from her and it takes accidentally leaving Earth to find out what.
2. Pick one sight, smell, sound, feel, and taste to describe the aesthetic for your novel.
sight: psychedelic tunnel (lots of colors and shapes spinning in a kaleidoscope)
smell: old books and coffee beans
sound: chatter of people
feel: vertigo; slight nausea and disorientation
taste: fruity energy drinks
--Some odd combinations...this was difficult! but good
3. Which 3+ songs would make up a playlist for the novel?
Reveries by Bones and Bridges
Me Against the World by Simple Plans
On and On by The Score
4. What’s the time period and location in which the novel takes place?
Technically happening right now!
5. Are there former titles you’ve considered but discarded?
Current title is Crossing, it’s the first decent title I’ve thought of tbh. Other ones were Between the Pages (but that was when the premise of the wip was very different) and Tunnels
6. What’s the first line of your novel?
“The first thing Quinn remembered when she came to was Salem telling her to go home. It seemed her head finally decided to punish her for not taking any pain medicine in the form of passing out. And unfortunately, her best friend was there to witness it.”
7. What’s a line of dialogue you’re particularly proud of?
The last line I shared in my latest last line tag game!
8. Which line from the novel most represents it as a whole?
I don’t think I have a line like that, yet. hmmmmm...
9. Who are your characters’ faceclaims?
I am still looking.
10. Sort your characters into Hogwarts houses.
Gryffindor: Devi, David, Dorothy (apparently it’s a req for my characters with “D” names to be in this house)
Slytherin: Alessa, Ada (again with the first letter! I swear it’s not on purpose)
Ravenclaw: Quinn, a currently unnamed antagonist
Hufflepuff: Salem
11. Which character’s name do you like the most?
Either Devi or Salem
12. Describe each characters daily outfit.
Quinn: jeans and a sweater/shirt or t-shirt (usually a sweater)
Salem: jeans and a t-shirt (usually boston red sox or bruins)
Alessa: hard to describe...she’s a kind of bounty hunter soooo (I’ll work on it)
Devi: also a kind of bounty hunter soooo
Dorothy: she’s a grandma so she’s wearing stereotypical grandma stuff
David and Ada: they’re wildlife photographers so they’re wearing hiking clothes and clothes that fit the climate they’re in
13. Do any characters have distinctive birthmarks/scars?
I haven’t thought about it...I’m gonna say not yet.
14. Which character most fits a character trope?
Salem fits the goofy and lovable best friend trope.
15. Which character is the best writer? Worst?
Well, David writes for Nat Geo, Dorothy wrote her own observational journals, and Quinn is in college for creative writing sooooo
Salem can’t write to save his life.
16. Which character is the best liar? Worst?
Alessa or Devi, hands down. Although an argument could be made for David +Ada together...
Quinn is the worst liar. Like ever.
17. What character swears the most? Least?
Dorothy.
Salem. (which is funny because Dorothy is Salem’s grandma)
18. Which character has the best handwriting? Worst?
Devi’s hobby is calligraphy!
David’s handwriting can’t even be described as chicken scratch.
19. Which character is the most like you? Least?
Definitely Quinn.
Least....either Devi or Alessa.
20. Which character would you most like to be?
OOOOOO..... there’s a character that I’m developing right now, and is unnamed but even the idea of them is exciting.
I would also love to be Devi.
