She heard the sliding door of RnD opening, and Billie pointed a gloved hand behind her, “Stay behind the safety glass!”

Glasses on, she took the beaker of liquid out of it’s cooler, breathing slowly as she poured it over what was clearly an active block of C4. Once the block was completely submerged, she rushed back behind the safety glass, detonator in hand, “Fire in the hole! Fire in the hole!”

“Three, two-” button pressed, it was silent a moment, before a crack at the back of the submerged block, and back of the table shattered in the explosion. Billie paused, before raising both hands, “Progress!”

She nodded happily to herself, before remembering, and turning back, “Sorry! Didn’t mean to ignore you, what can RnD do for you today?”

The young man frowned at the view in front of him, sighing, and taking another sip of his soda. The city below was prospering more and more every day, but Keith felt lacking. Like there was more for him out there. These thoughts filled his mind.

Girl was bored. Her pack had scattered again, leaving her behind and the red-crested raptor behind to idly scratch. It was common for her pack to leave her behind and the smallish raptor hated it, but had learned that keening and calling only ended with her getting cuffs, so she terrorized the three-horns for a bit, leaving when the got annoyed. 

The sound of two-leggers had her yelping and whining for her pack though, even as she was curious about them.
