So I have an unhealthy obsession for an anime, not very popular, where there is a card game that takes place on another planet. I was thinking about an hypothetical BNHA AU set in that world, and what would the characters be like in that universe, since the powersets and many other aspects are very different.

And then I thought about the Todoroki family. In that world there is a clan (groups in which the inhabitants of the world are subdivided, like Nations) with "fire powers", a military and belligerent nation mainly constituted by flame dragons and humans who fight alongside them. A perfect fit for Endeavor, even though I love that clan

However, there is no clan with "ice powers" or anything equivalent. So I tried to think at what was Endeavor's original intent: having a heir with powerful flames, strong enough to surpass All Might, who could resist the heat. And there's a clan that could serve that purpose: one made entirely of undead pirates. So, Rei is a ghost/zombie/whatever. And Dabi takes more after his mother. Which means that in my AU there's a perfectly normal explanation as to how he survives setting himself on fire, the bleach thing, and his escape from his family home; like, he could just not have told anyone that he's immortal, set the whole room on fire, and walked away.

Which is fucking hilarious

Also, to keep his blue flames, they could be a weird genetic mix, like ghost fire.

And on that planet, there's a group of people inside a subclan that can use blue flames (which are not really flames, but mana, but anyway). And who did I put in that same subclan, even though he doesn't have that power?

All Might.

Therefore, in my AU, Dabi is a half zombie, and can therefore survive almost anything, and his blue flames doesn't work on most people because it's literal ghost fire. I basically solved lots of plot holes, I think

AND both Endeavor and Shouto think he's All Might’s secret love child.

i went and had a quick glance.. while they aren't exactly wrong about the potential of his notes being used for villainy if someone with unheroic morals got their hands on them.. part of me feels like people overestimate just how much deku has in those notebooks..

to better himself as a fighter, or to help others, it seems like people think he notes every single tiny detail about someone in those notes.. when from what we've seen its just notes about their quirk or how they handle their hero persona.

but oh well, its CBR... they often miss entirely with their articles imo

Idk if somebody already thought about it, but what happens when a female avatar dies while giving birth to her kid? Does the avatar spirit just yeets itself into the kid? Maybe it really likes the family, who knows.

The kid then sees art about the mother bending all the elements and goes "I want to do it too when I am holder" and people are like "Well, you probably won't" and then the kid bends all the elements. That would be funny

I’d assume that dying while giving birth to a baby doesn’t guarantee that the baby will be the next Avatar, but it would be interesting

I was rewatching the series (again) and, I don't know, it just hit me that in the first episode Ezran and Callum are introduced during a thunderstorm. And if you consider that Callum would later learn the Sky Primal Magic... It's probably not foreshadowing (I don't know anymore), but it would be funny if in one of the upcoming seasons we saw the same scene, with Ezran waking up because of a thunder, and Callum saying "It's okay" while throwing a lightning to some baddies. I love the parallels.

I touched on this briefly when I looked at 1x01 more in depth, like forever ago (March 2019, yeesh) but one of the things that fascinates me most in s1, and even in s2 and s3, now too, is Ezran’s arc with fear, and just how much he’s grown up.

And too, like Callum, am so proud of him.

This is not an ask, but I just wanted to say thank you for being here. When I came to Tumblr S3 was already over, and I had enjoyed all of it, so I was just eager to see the thoughts of the other fans (and the metas, I love them) about this lovely show. Too bad I just came across the salt side of the fandom, and I almost felt guilty that I liked Miraculous, given how everyone was hating it. So, thank you for being here, and making this experience enjoyable again!!!

This show definitely doesn’t deserve this level of salt and I think it has a wonderful fandom outside the salt part that loves to just enjoy the show and have fun with it 

Season 3 was a toughie because with every episode there was this immense wave of hate towards it and going through the tag after every new episode just started to get disheartening. But really it’s only a few big blogs that make a statement on why they hated the episode and then their followers just take that and roll with it. Try not to let them get you down and certainly not to feel guilty being apart of the fandom and actually enjoying the show (cuz that’s the reason why you should be in a fandom right?  loolol) 

I think we should need to have fun with this and joke around

I have this feeling, that when Aaravos finds out that Callum is able to connect to the Arcana, he will become really interested in him (because he has a plan), leaving Viren in the shadow. That will cause a progressive estrangement between the two, and Viren will realize his mistakes. Then he will sacrifice to save Callum, and the day. And Claudia will be even more angry... What do you think?

Given that since S2 I figured Aaravos would be the endgame big bad for a variety of reasons, I could definitely see something like this. Since S4 will presumably start with Viren and Aaravos in a… not terrible but disappointed place, and Claudia angry and annoyed, it would make sense if those became inverted. Especially because Aaravos may look at Viren - who ultimately failed - and see him as damaged goods (he is a revived corpse, after all) but Claudia is younger and alive and healthier and far more emotional. Far easier to emotionally manipulate. 

Regardless of how it happens, I think that eventually Viren is going to realize how much Aaravos is using him, and perhaps even more importantly, what Aaravos has been using him for. 

Right now I’m theorizing that Aaravos is one of the Great Ones Ziard spoke of, of being gifted his staff. A staff that seems to be Viren’s - maybe his family line? I also think that, along with being part of what led to humanity developing Dark Magic, that Aaravo is involved heavily in the exile of humans themselves beyond that. AKA the western lands that house the Pentarchy used to be all seen as Xadia, and therefore magical. And somehow the magic was taken out of the land and the breach created. And if magic could be taken out of land, then why not also out of people? For whatever reason. 

So Viren realizing that Aaravos tends to do much worse - like maybe remove more magic? The dawning horror of everything he’s done and everything he’s tried to do crashing around him? Viren dying to give Callum and/or Ezran time to get out, to live, to keep hope alive? One last good deed. An apology. Not redemption in death - but it’s not damnation, either. Leaves the stage clear for Aaravos in the final arc. I can see it.

As for Claudia, I think she’ll already be angry enough at Callum and Rayla’s hand in Viren’s literal death (and at Soren’s for what he was willing to do) that a repeat of sorts isn’t necessary per se. I also think it’s likely she’ll get redeemed in late S5 (or last season of the 2nd arc, anyway) and live and make up for her wrongs. Find her way back to her brother, who really is now the only family she has left (once Viren kicks the bucket, anyway). Gratified by knowing her father did one truly decent thing before the end of it. That what she sacrificed (of herself) to keep Viren alive was paid forward, in some way.

AKA what I want for the morally ambiguous fam as a whole. I like my drama and cyclical storytelling. TDP please.

critic: what’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received about writing?

the best piece of advice, more so one i’ve read rather than directly received, is that your first draft doesn’t have to perfect, and as cliche as it sounds, you just have to write. just get words on the page and worry about how crappy they are later. not only will you surprise yourself and find often that things hold up more than you thought, but it’s the only way to keep moving forward. practice is everything. just write, as much as you can. it really is the most important thing.

mifflin: what do you feel is your strong suit in writing?

i think i’m really good at writing sort of gut punching lines or like, realizations? the sentences that sting. the insults hurled that really stick or cross a line. big or quiet bursts of emotion, i think. i also have a lot of fun writing dialogue and i think i’m pretty good at always keeping conversations interesting rather than cluttered? just character interaction, i think. it’s definitely what i enjoy writing the most so i hope i’m good at it, at least, lol!
