The tunnels were dark and silent, the group walked quietly. Keeping their flashlights on low, they made sure to keep near big rocks, creates and boxes just in case.
Soon they made it into a circle shaped room, only 2 paths leading opposite ways from their entrance.
"Why didn't we take the school entrance?"
"Because we don't really know the whole layout of that side, but do know the way there. That's an escape route if anything goes south."
Trinity looked at the 2 paths.
"We can split up into 2's. Delroy and Enzo you go left. Me and Ivan will keep going straight."
"Welp, see ya. If we even survive."
Delroy said while walking to his direction, Enzo gave them a thumbs up before quickly catching up with Delroy.
Trinity and Ivan went the other way, it's brighter than Delroy's and Enzo's direction but the have flashlights.
The two walked down, passing more crates and boxes, and small water puddles. The place felt like a maze, endless hallways and same looking boxes and crates, felt liminal to Ivan.
Trinity was to focused on checking corners to see any cultist.
They two continued down the path, after sometime they heard something.
They slowly approached but hid behind boxes and crates, they stopped once get could hear clearly.
"Nope, damn kid. Always acting up when a little "bird" show kicks in."
"Calm yourself, that little show of his will be over within a few minutes. We still need to test the prototype before we can surgically add it to him."
Once voice exclaims. The other groaned.
"I some times wished I chose the second option."
The two cultist soon left the room through another path.
Trinity and Ivan waited just in case they come back, once the cost seemed clear the two entered.
It as just room, with papers and other documents, Trinity began to look at the while Ivan looked at the board in the room. The room was pretty well lit, they scrambled through papers to see what the cult's plans could be.
And maybe where Nicky could be.
Delroy and Enzo were in a room full of boxes filled with stuff, looked like the stuff in the old amusement park.
They obviously didn't find anything of interest nor importance so they continued down in the tunnels, just hallways and tunnels along with some rooms that were either empty or filled with something.
Soon they found another room, but they immediately stopped in their tracks. A cultist was in there facing the other way, they immediately hid behind a box without the cult member noticing.
They heard it grabbing something and the walking out of the room, they of course came out of the hiding and went to where the cultist was.
It was a box on the table, and it had syringes.
Trinity and Ivan were already what they presumed was the south side of the tunnels, they heard their walkie talkies go off, Ivan answered his.
The two jumped immediately when Enzo shouted.
"Sorry!- they have syringes!..."
Trinity said in confession.
"Yea! We don't know what's inside though.."
"And I ain't testing them."
Delroy said in the background.
"You guys keep quiet! We can't-"
Trinity looked and saw the cult member lunging at them, the two screamed and started to run.
Cutting their walkie talkie.
Only static, the two looked at each other.
The cult members knew they were here. The two immediately started to cower in fear.
"You gonna go out the door?.."
The two pushed and shoved each other before Delroy immediately over powered him, pushing him outside.
Enzo immediately looked both ways, nothing.
He looked back at Delroy because shaking his head.
Deploy slowly walked out and the two immediately started to head right, they didn't wanna get caught in Ivan's and trinity's mess.
They two walked down the tunnel making sure to not be in the light for too long. Soon they made it to a room, but unlike the rest from before, this room actually looked important.
The whole room was littered with the city's lay outs and ins, there was even a whole map of the town with secret passageways.
"Hey...this was updated just last month!"
Enzo took out his phone and started to take pictures, making sure he got all of the details in the photos.
Trinity and Ivan ran, making sure to knock down anything, crates included.
The tunnels were big but the boxes and crates were big enough to be a blockage.
Even if they only work for a few seconds.
They immediately saw a table with a big cloth on it, Trinity immediately grabbed an item from her bag, it was just an old book she never needed. And threw it in the hallway.
The two immediately hid under the table, right before the cultist came.
They heard the book and immediately went into that direction.
The two sighed in relief. They waited for a while before they came out of hiding.
They went through the tunnel they came from before.
They swiftly went back into the room, then the tunnel before trueing left where they came from.
"How big is this place??"
Trinity said softly, the school wasn't even half of the tunnels size. Ivan stopped her, she looked at him and he pointed.
She looked and saw shadows coming from the distance, and it was three at best.
Trinity immediately had herself and Ivan hid in one of the open boxes, the heard the footsteps grow louder.
They both knew that the cult were now aware of their presence, but they couldn't tie back. Not without-
The two jumped and the box fell over, the cultist looked and immediately tried to grab them, but Trinity acted fast and grabbed Ivan and they ran.
The cultist followed suit. The two didn't even look on where they were going, they just took sharp turns and random hallways.
Before they knew it, they reached a dead end.
They turned to see the cultist now right behind them, Trinity had Ivan go behind her.
They started to approach the two kids, Trinity stood her ground while Ivan stood behind her struck with terror.
