The weapon remained in their body, planted in the area associated with the shoulder blade, angled downward and piercing the motor to their joint. The displays behind their eyes flashed bright red in the silhouette of their body in that area. With the opposite hand, they took hold of the knife's handle and pulled it from the wound, freezing for a solid ten seconds afterward. The silence was filled by electrical wires in their body making and breaking contact under the silicon, and the motor to their shoulder joint pivoting and braking.
They brought the weapon to their view to examine it, then turned toward their attacker with a rather sad expression on their face.
"I'm filing you under clumsy," they began with a soft and sincere tone, making direct eye contact, "I know this was a mistake, and I forgive you, but please don't let it happen again!" Then, the knife clatters onto the floor, and they turn their back to Dave with trust, walking away to seek assistance.
