another thing i'm reeeally enjoying about occtis is the absolute dissociation from what he went through. it's constantly on his mind, a series of clinical observations and strange reckonings with how his existence now functions, but feelings? nope. nahhhh. we aren't thinking about that. any attempt to talk about it just gets a weird chuckle and a comment or joke about his undeath that's off-putting enough to induce immediate subject change. of course half the time he's bringing it up himself, but that's just to be funny you guys!! only to say lol i'm different from all of you now and everything about my world has changed, crazy right? maybe it'll be easier if we all just treat it casually. let's always be mentioning it but never talking about it. let's always be thinking about it but never feeling it. i ask occtis how dying feels and he says not everything feels like something else.

it is SO funny being both a Critical Role and comic book fan. With comic books you're begging on your knees for fans to have at least glanced at the source material, and then there's CR fans having their own personal 9/11's about fanart taking liberties with characters' appearances
