why is the aldnoah zero fandom still churning out absolute masterpieces of 20k+ wordcount old man yaoi and old woman yuri. i watched this mid ass show when i was in middle school yet yall keep serving in the ao3 department. mid-college rn and absolutely devouring the cruhteo/saazbaum and darzana/mizusaki fics that have cropped up since my last perusal of the ao3 tag.
cruhteo: are you talking back to me?
slaine: yeah, that's how a conversation works.

Okay, no one was disputing that (except the part about him changing— he didn’t, only his view and consequentially his actions did). As a person who has been going through mental and physical abuse for my whole life now, I can confirm that those things can’t simply be erased with the wave of a hand. However..
You do realize that if all of it was the product of misunderstandings, being suddenly on the same side and having all further abuse cancelled is a pretty great prospect for a person in this situation. Suddenly being able to understand and work together with instead of against a person is an amazing feeling, and while it doesn’t remove everything that happened before, it’s a fresh beginning to a now far healthier relationship than the new one he actually got (being openly manipulated, “adopted,” and openly manipulated some more by a person who wanted to kill the only one he cared about).
Slaine is a reasonable person despite all he went through, bless him. I suspect he would prefer the option of knowing the truth and working with Cruhteo over the other option he had no choice in making and which ended up in nearly killing the person he loved.
Sometimes we have to choose to work with someone we never thought we would, even if it hurts at first. And you know, it makes for such a more dynamic story when people actually delve further into each others’ stories and learn to accept their differences and live and move on from a terrible past.
Hopefully this makes sense to you.
I have to join them in their fangirling, Hayami Sho’s voice is 10/10 and I wish he got more serious roles, he was so sweet and nice in this radio episode.
Cruhteo’s brithday was recently, so here’s a drawing by Kiyokazu Satake for the occasion.
slaine: could you guys at least try and see this from my perspective?
saazbaum, leans forwards:
cruhteo, bends down:
marylcian, tips his head:
slaine: i hate all of you.
Thanks to @lostmoodyfw I’ve managed to find the original Japanese version of the BD volume 9 omake! (I posted the Korean translation last year.)
Somebody translated the Korean version for me months ago and then my friend who speaks Japanese quickly checked it (many many thanks to her!) so here’s a slightly messy combined translation:
Our Aldnoah School
Eddelrittuo: They must be screwing around with a lame event again... Asseylum: But it looks fun! <3 Episode: “Who is the best muttsuri sukebe of the school?” The term is "muttsuri sukebe" and I'd say that the best way to describe it is "a person who looks like they have zero interest in lewd things/you'd never expect to have impure thoughts, but deep inside they're pretty interested in the field".
Middle: Who is the mutsuri king of the far side! Right: Entry number 1! Kaizuka Inaho! Left: Entry number 2! Slane Troyard! Nina: I seriously think it's Inaho-kun~ Inko: Forget that, what the heck is this battle!?
Rayet: I don't know about Slaine-kun... Nina: Ah, of course, we need to find out if he has inappropriate feelings towards Seylum-san... Slaine: Eh? Eh? Eh? Eh?
Nina: Calm and Okojo are openly sukebe. Calm: Hey that’s rude! Okojo: What do you mean, openly sukebe? Really transparent!
Rayet: I think principal Saaz is also openly sukebe in the same sense... Nina: Ah, I totally know what you mean.
Nina: What about Trillram? Rayet: A glimpse of sukebe, or a tiny bit mutsuri.. or something. Maybe a tiny bit pure? Or something like that. Nina: Femieanne-senpai is kinda like that too~ Inaho: So? What is the result of pervert battle between me and Former-bat-now-seagull in the end? Slaine: I'm neither a bat nor seagull!! Inko: Inaho, don't get all worked up over this out of all people~ Nina: Aah~...About that...
In the end, we decided that no one can take the title of Muttsuri King against Cruhteo-sensei...
Cruhteo: ?
*Inaho calls Slaine コウモリ改めウミネコ, no idea how to translate it better but it's because of "class change" of nickname from ep 14
