I dunno if anyone wanted this but here's my full thought process for my little crk ocs:

LAVACAKE & CHOCOLATE TRUFFLE:

Initial thoughts, why did I make them?

At first, these two were born because I always thought that Crunchy would need help with the wolves (assuming he has plenty and not the main 3 in his attack) and, as it known by the artbook, tamers are a thing in the kingdom.

So it made SENSE he'd have some help, and so I began thinking about it.

Overall ideas

First, if Crunchy had a team, how big would it be? With that in mind, I remembered that Crunchy summons three wolves and yeah, that was the end of that question.

A trio makes sense too! Specially knowing that Crunchy is incredibly capable when it comes to his canine fellows, i'm sure that two amazing tamers by his side would be enough to handle all the pack.

So, for the clothes (since if you notice, both Lava and Truffle's.. under coats?? The part below the belt that has fur) I made a small change from what Crunchy's design usually is.

Why, though?

The obvious (and clearest) answer is because they're his subordinates. BUT. BUT. THERE'S ANOTHER REASON.

Remember how I decided to make two characters due to Crunchy's wolves?? Well.

YEAHHH YOU BET I MADE A SMALL WINK AT HIS ATTACK HEHEHE- SO YEAH! THEIR COATS ARE CLEARER SINCE THEY RESEMBLE HIS WOLVES!!!

Now, their ingridients. Why Lavacake? Why Chocolate Truffle? Being honest, for Lava I just searched for desserts with chocolate lol. Though, with Truffle I chose her specially because I personally love eating them.

Now, Lavacake:

There are plenty intentional details I did for him, my beloved old man.......

Personality-wise, he's much more softer than the usual cacaoian(?) soldier. Lava is gentle, loud and talkative.

As a soldier, he's well respected. But he's not liked that much because he's seen as 'exhausting', most cacaoians are quiet and prefer not to talk, yet this chatterbox can't stop ever and people usually are unable to keep up. Not only that, but he laughs both often are really loudly, he's noisy and can see as having an 'explosive' personality so he doesn't have many close friends.

*Get it? Explosive? Like a volcano explod-

When it comes to new recruits, he's always an amazing mentor. He was the one to help Crunchy Chip with training wolves when the guy was a boy (in his eyes, at least). Contrary to most people that surrounded Crunchy at the time (**Here's a mix with some personal HC), he didn't push Chip to be less 'feral' or to act 'proper'. Lava was patient with him, helping him understand and repeating his words without shaming till Crunchy understood.

[For context, I like to think that Crunchy lived with wolves as a child until he was found by some soldiers. A proper wolf guy story! But once he was in the DC Kingdom he struggled to fit in and learn to act as a 'cookie' and not like an animal. Most werent patient enough to him, nor to his outburst with biting]

With that in mind, maybe Lava understood Crunchy because he knew how to treat wolves. Or maybe he's just nicer and less rough, who knows.

He's the bestfriend of Choco Truffle's dad, who is a high ranked soldier (maybe a watcher, or perhaps close enough to being one).

Relationships:

Crunchy: He acts as a mentor, kind of like a fun uncle to him. Chip respects him and kind of sees him as family. He's not really bothered by the man talking, probably because he's known him for as long as he remembers.

Lava's thoughts: He's like a wolf. An amazing leader and understands the wolves like no one else, I worry he's so stressed all the time.

Chocolate Truffle: Once again, a mentor for her. He takes special care on her as she's his bestfriend's daughter. Truffle adores him as a father, and loves to hear him talk. She usually doesn't answer much, but she adores him greatly.

Lava's thoughts: She's quick and decesive. Great at fighting and a lovely companion. I wish she could laugh more, but she's just silent like that.

Chocolate Truffle:

My little daughter I love her smmm

In terms of personality, she's much closer to the usual cacaoian soldier. Quiet, serious and ready to battle. Except of a tiny thing...

She doesn't understand nor see the need to protect the kingdom like any soldier. CTruffle doesn't really respect the Dark Cacao for being the king, but does so because she learnt she's supposed to.

Truffle struggles with understanding why his peers often seek to protect the walls and feel pride for fighting for it. Then, why is she a soldier? Because she seeked her father. She wanted to be closer to him and thought that this might be the only way.

Yet, it wasn't and she didn't see him at all even with her hardwork.

So, yeah, she doesn't hold the beliefs of the DC Kingdom at all. So why does she protect the walls?

Truffle, much like Crunchy, sees wolves as peers just as if they were cookies. They're her siblings, even with being born as different species. The wolves, in a way, are the only thing she truly understands and sees the beauty in.

Lava was the one to teach her about them and, since she held her first cub, Truffle decided she was going to be a tamer no matter what.

*She's the youngest of the three, so she didn't train with Crunchy [I hc Crunchy around late thirties, while Truffle would be in mid or late twenties]

But also, she is a soldier (a fierce one at that) because if protecting the wall, if protecting the kingdom meant she could protect her family (wolves, Lava, Crunchy), she will not hesitate to do so.

Truffle is sarcastic and dry, but has quite the sense of humour when she drops one or two comments. Crunchy is quite fond of her and, for some time, did mentor her slightly.

Relationships

Crunchy: She's a friend to him. Crunchy respects her a lot since she understands the wolves are not pets nor just animals. Dislikes when she is so obtuse when it comes to understanding the value of fighting for the kingdom.

Truffle's thoughts: He's my friend. A great leader. Understands the wolves like me.

Lavacake: A daughter, in a way for him. He looks out for her and Truffle cares for him. Sees him as her real father. Lava tries his best to be there for her when she struggles with understanding stuff.

Truffle's thoughts: A friend, a mentor and a father. Very loud.

Them, as a team

It all boils down to this, in the end:

In my personal vision, each one of them fill what the other lacks. In what sense?

Crunchy loves the kingdom and will protect it with his life, HAS the values of a soldier. He acts like most of the DC Kingdom do, too. Yet he often looks out of place. His white hair is too different from the usual chocolate tones of his peers and, although it has never bothered him, his past also adds on a small sense of not being part of it. He protects the kingdom as its his own, but sometimes he wonders if he truly belongs, or if he was meant to live with the wolves in the wild.

Lava protects the kingdom with care and also hopes be remembered as a fallen warrior one day. He has many cacaoian features with his chocolate hair and purplish eyes, but the only thing he is 'off' would be how he acts. He's loud, talkative and is explosive in general. Lava is exhausting in his peers eyes and people often avoid speaking to him to avoid the essay this old man will SURELY drop.

Truffle looks like any cacaoian, acts and talks like one yet she is unable to understand their values. She was born in the kingdom yet she can't understand what living for and protecting the kingdom truly means. She does so because that's what she learnt she should do so, but in a way she's rather apathic towards her own home. The only thing she truly cares about is her family, and will fight for it. She's loyal to what she loves, but that is not her kingdom.

With that, they are a lovely trio that often sees comfort in the others. Althought they have quite different ages, different values and looks, they all bond over the wolves and, in a way, how they are. They understand that the others are also out of place but here, in this group, in this pack, they are finally part of it. It's like a safe space.
