The 22/7 panel today was some GOOD CONTENT y'all. Having Sally there and a very informal but smart moderator made the panel way more insightful than you'd get anywhere else, for various unique reasons, and I don't just mean comedy content. Sally was very candid about the harsh realities of the industry. There was a good amount of serious talk about dealing with rude feedback both from industry people and randos online. Not to say that there wasn't also lots of great entertainment. For starters, the moderator did a great job using "what did you do in the area?" as ice breaker talk, because he had accompanied them on their tourist activities. So he could tell anecdotes that the girls wouldn't tell, and prod them for their specific reactions to specific events, rather than just "we went here and here" stuff. This is the sort of thing Kawakami did for Momoclo on Ustream, where he would provoke reactions beyond basic answers, so that not everything was at the mercy of if the girls remembered a certain story, or if they even could tell it well. Then we had a lot of aforementioned serious talk, and I think that because Sally and the moderator were talking so informaly but also so frankly, that pushed the other girls to also up their answer game, going beyond rote answers and going more in-depth in their details and feelings. But then, we had a "tell a secret about the other members corner," and boy, was it glorious. With other idols, this question still tends to produce "tee-hee, yada~" tame reactions that don't really go anywhere, unless you have a rare host really willing to dig in, overreact and make a mountain out of the secret molehill to provoke the idol. However, Sally actually provided some image-breaking teasing of her fellow member Ruri, and Ruri got really put out, and it was like Idol Maury, with 3rd attending member Kanae going all TiredBenAffleck.jpg while Sally and Ruri kept taking potshots at each other and slouched in their chairs lol. It was great. (Yo Sally, if you're reading this, you could always do janky French/Spanish for your self PR talent showcase next time!) It was definitely the kind of stuff that makes fans out of strangers.
