( ' one of the many mysteries hogwarts can give is the mystery of the bottomless work to do and the stress that comes with it. there's a growing objection the second the headmaster instructs him to be in charge of detention time, during patrols. yong tries to logically map it out, but he fails in the middle of thinking. so, there he is, with a cup of coffee, looking over the kid he gave detention to just a few weeks ago ) i can’t believe i picked a stone to hit against my head ( ‘ he murmurs to himself, regretting to have given the kid work in the first place )

👽 –– Do you believe in aliens? Do you believe there could be life on other planets, no matter how small?

“Interesting.” The professor starts, placing his fingers over his chin to think about it. “I don’t think so, or else they would have tried to contact us before, right? Unless they are very small, so they can’t... But that’s hard, isn’t it? Wouldn’t we have figured it out before?” He chuckles, nodding his head to convince the other.

🎃 –– What was your first Halloween costume that you can remember? How old were you when you stopped trick or treating?

“That’s an easy one! I was Batman!” He chuckles as he notices how silly it sounded. “My parents wanted me to mingle with muggle kids, so I would always go out for trick or treating. I stopped when I was 10 for... Reasons.” The professor clears his throat but flashes a small smile.

💍 –– Do you want to get married someday? If you are married, did your wedding go as you imagined it would?

“I am married, actually.” Daniel smiles and nods, comfortable to talk about it. “It was a bit messy and had some drama just a little before the official wedding, but everything worked out in the end. I believe we are not a fancy couple, but we’re still pretty much newlyweds, so we live happily and life is good.”

a fanaticism of whimpers become the soundtrack of the indigo evening. xeno closes his eyes and on cue the callous harmony amplifies until it drowns him. noxious miasma manacles him as words howl until they inundate his senses. indoctrinating, hypnosis. yes snap open again. the maestro lowers his baton and the snore of the taunting beast stifles into a silence.

( it knows it will have a chance again to rise even from purgatory to haunt his senses. )

gone are the noises replaced by another curse. the vision. over and over again it scratches itself so severely into his that pledging secrecy would be a sin. pleading ignorance would be a peccadillo. so xeno watches. even in the shadows of a rusty street lamp flickering in the last ember of its life, he traces the skin that stretches over jutting ribs. famine truly rises as a horseman, one glance bringing bile stinging his mouth.

( there once was a boy who too only lived as a walking skeleton learning to sew his skin together onto himself every morning. )

“orphaned and abandoned. you poor things,” xeno murmurs. he crouches downwards until he is closer in level to the stray puppies. they don’t fear humans. not yet. innocent a psyche still seeks the chicanery of companionship. he offers them a devotion brought only by the language of kindred. however, he freezes when he notices another presence.

( friend or foe, the grey line between them becomes ever the thicker. )

“they’re strays,” xeno turns his head to explain. the figure looks familiar even in the penumbra of dusk. another hogwarts student for his mind to parse. “do you have anything to feed them? any scraps? bones?”

she tries not to let her distaste show on her face. men. to be more specific, this man. old mahoutokoro habits are hard to break; even now, part of her demands she show more respect to her seniors, but the other part of her says to fuck it all because some people just don’t deserve respect. you earn it; you don’t demand it. joon has never done anything to earn her respect. she wouldn’t even agree to spend a prolonged period of time around him were it not for… research purposes. though honestly, she’s starting to second guess the wisdom in writing an article about him. should she really be giving him that kind of a platform?

regardless, the touching has gone on too long. satomi yanks her wrist from his grip with a withering look. “that tends to happen when strange men grab my hand, yes,” she says cooly. “off the record, are you trying to creep me out or does that come naturally?” she’s none too kind when it serves her purposes, or when she’s just too tired to keep up the act. but a reporter doesn’t show an ugly face unless there’s call for it, and it takes her a moment to reorient herself and force a smile onto her face.

“sorry, where were we?” she taps her quill against the notebook’s blank page and looks up at joon. “you were going to tell me about what you’re working on?” satomi prompts—probes, if you were being honest. her words aren’t gentle; this is an excavation.

“i do believe in aliens,” she admits simply, not even hesitating to answer the question that was being presented to her. it may seem weird to others, but this was something that she had actually put a lot of thought into, “if we can living amongst muggles undetected, who’s to say that there aren’t other beings that live amongst us that even we can’t detect? magic isn’t fool proof, after all, magic is still flawed. maybe one of the flaws is the fact that aliens still can’t be detected with magic.”

“doesn’t every girl wish for a fairy tale wedding?” she responds to the question, a soft smile upon her lips as she thinks about all the many times she had looked upon wedding dresses in shop windows wistfully, “we all want to meet our prince charming and fall in love and start a family,” she continues. the thing was… she may have already found him. he just isn’t her prince charming. she wondered then when the last time she had cared to look at wedding dresses was, “but at the moment, i don’t think i’m really in a place to be thinking about marriage. i’ll just wait for all of my friends to get married first before i start thinking about settling down myself.”

keep a secret?

in the dark skies, somewhere out beyond hogwarts boundaries, jace finds himself trapped in the glistening stars. he knows what trouble he could be getting himself into, especially since he’s past the limits of curfew. nevertheless, with his usually carelessness, he doesn’t let it get to his head. but he could be sick from his reckless thinking.

tonight, thunders take away his source of comfort. the clouds are not only striking but pelting him with heavy rain. he has to run, not that he’s afraid of lightning... he just shouldn’t be here.

his uniform gets drenched in the cold waters, he’s trying to run back to the gryffindor tower before anyone catches him at this time. unfortunately for him, he’s starting to worry. which isn’t the norm for jace moon. as he’s almost inside, his eyes catch a silhouette, blent in the shadows.

“you better not snitch.” he doesn’t exactly know who it is, but he highly hopes he’s on the safer side.
