“hey you !” a voice shouted.
her heart jumped. the loud voice was like thunder. it struck her senses wide awake as she turned around to face an unfamiliar, yet tall fellow hogwarts student. his aura boasted a faint shimmer of light colors alongside the angelic smile that was shot towards her. her face flushed an immediate bright pink and her eyes avoided his. it felt like eons since, she was not used to such friendly mannerisms, and from the opposite sex at the least.
once she heard the name ‘jace moon’ leave his lips, her eyes widened and her orbs blinked a glint of silver. it was happening again. within one second, a surge of emotions riled up inside of her exploded, she had seen the many futures of jace moon in an instant. at that moment, she felt sad and upset. she didn’t want to be reminded of that incident. she clenched her fists inside her sleeve and bit her bottom lip.
“i-i’m sorry, i gotta go,” she replied as she left him standing alone and disappeared amongst the crowd with other female students. it was not meant to be. her chest heated up and heart was left filled with regret. however, today was the sorting ceremony and she needed to clear her mind and heart to be ready for her own prophecy that was about to begin.
he’d never been the kind of person people ran away from. jace has been one with the crowds, easygoing and swift. everyone greets him, he greets back. the process repeats on a daily basis. so the reaction of the girl jolts him, but most of all has piqued his interest.
there’s never been anyone to avoid him. in most cases, it’s rare. “oh i probably scared you, i’m so sorry.” he means his apology wholeheartedly. he’s sure treading on thin ice, breaking it even if he’s stepping on gently as possible. she’s pretty fast, with how her tracks moved and she was just here a second.
jace wants to chase but part of him tells him not too. she could be having a bad day, only for him to make it worse with his sudden presence. one she hadn’t been expecting all along, but he remembers her face solidly. right now, he’s being an idiot to pass through the crowd and have his attention on one girl.
but there’s something about her.
so he follows where his heart leads him to. tags along to the raven beauty. “i think you dropped something.” he shouts across from the hallway as he’s trying to catch up to her.
