Cryak-Ulchtar lore makes me UNWELL
never get over how they just casually telling us he has mommy issues in a halloween special, and then also continuing the trend of people saying how everything is always his fault~
In my Transformers lore iteration, Steel Sparks, Cryak is indeed this lad Ulchtar's Mentor, and the one who really go him into Scientific study and his love of cybertronian nature. They had many good years, the only thing that hung over that time as it went was Cryak's chronic frikin plague she caught on the last exhibition she was able to go on. She was a very well known and respected researcher, who of course had her own team behind her during this hard time, who she continued to work with. As a cure appeared as if it would never arise, she came up with a different plan to extend her life by ordering herself a seeker to shape into the perfect little vessel.
For this reason of how much Cryak's intension from the start was to essentially steal Ulchtar's body to save her own spark, their colors are meant to match hers significantly. As she had more so picked it out for herself.
But when the day came for this intention to be revealed, Ulchtar rightly felt betrayed, despite the MASS amounts of guilting and shaming she tried to put onto him about it like: "do you WANT me to die?"
Due to their stubborn spark, Ulchtar was able to get away, but was terrified of being found and pinned down again. And desperately wanted to prove that he WAS his own person, who still liked science, and could do what they damn well pleased. So Ulchtar changed their name to Starscream, first repainted himself shittily before running into Knockout briefly who insisted on fixing the mess lmao.
