@cryogenicmuses II plotted a starter!
❝ Shit, oh shit. Fuck! ❞ Sebastian pulled at his hair, pacing around the hole that had opened up just feet away from him. It was about the size of an adult person, the shape of it a perfect circular configuration that made the situation feel all the more real.
Because Abigail had fallen through it.
They made it to the fifth level of the mines by the time the hole appeared out of nowhere and had taken her. Her determination and lust for adventure spurred them forward, but it didn't anticipate the sudden consternation of being separated so suddenly. It happened in a blink of an eye. They heard a rumble, and suddenly, the ground had opened up right from under her.
The last thing he heard was her terrified screams until the darkness swallowed her up. He couldn't have reacted fast enough to catch her.
They told each other they weren't going to split up. That they were going to work together and see how far down they could get, and help reset the elevator. To help the town out, or so her reasonings had been. It sounded good in theory. Fun, even. Abigail seemed so confident that he thought he could be confident, too.
Look it where it got them.
He had a measly weapon in his hand; one he got from Marlon at the Adventure's Guild. It was strong enough to handle the upper-levels, but depending on how far she fell, there was no saying how deep the levels went. He wouldn't be able to defend himself the further he went down.
❝ ABIGAIL! ❞ Sebastian fell to his knees, dropping the sword by his side to cup his hands around his mouth to create an echo effect, praying she fell a single story down the length of the mines and would be able to hear him. All he needed was to know was that she was okay.
He wasn't going to abandon her. He knew she would do the same for him.
❝ Fuck, fuck, fuck... ABIGAIL!! ❞ He yelled a pitiful attempt once more, but was beginning to feel helpless the longer she didn't answer back. Was she hurt down there? Knocked out cold? ..... Dead?
He looked around helplessly as his next attempt to find help. It was useless, he knew that, but if he prayed hard enough, maybe someone would materialize out of thin air to save her.
He couldn't imagine leaving the mines without her. Not now.
“Why are you acting like this?” // Heathcliff to Meursault!
HURT FEELINGS || ACCEPTING
The funeral had been a disaster, screaming from Hindley's side and disdain on the other. It seemed no matter what he said Heathcliff's words didn't seem to reach anyone, and once the lightning began striking the house...words didn't matter anymore. Catherine had died; Meursault could tell even prior to Nelly's announcement, atmosphere thick with sadness among the tension. The other man's features were grim, teeth digging onto lower lip and hands curled into fists.
Before long did the other man finally speak, voice shaking as if on the verge of an outburst.
"I'm familiar with funerals," hand tucked into his pocket, other idly messing with his tie whilst in the darkness of the manor. "I assumed offering condolences would provide you comfort, but I see I was wrong."
@cryogenicmuses liked ♡ for a flirty starter
ShinRa was in shambles. Sleipnir found it interesting to watch them fall about over their own mistake. Why, Genesis had been one of theirs and when he defected, they simply tried to cover it up – wanting to hide their sins.
And now their decision was backfiring on them. Sleipnir wasn't surprised to be sent on an emergency mission to 'take out' the 'traitor', though what they believed he could do against Genesis was beyond him. He was skilled, yes, but he knew how to choose his battles. This was not one he believed he could win, but at this point ShinRa doing what they could to stall for time.
Even so, Sleipnir had went – not because of his loyalty to ShinRa, but because of his sheer curiosity.
And oh, what a sight Genesis made. Sleipnir wasn't sure he had ever seen anything more beautiful than this.
"You are stunning," the words were surprisingly genuine, coming from Sleipnir. He was meant to stay hidden and observe, but that had become futile the moment he felt Genesis' power.
Moving forward, he bent onto one knee in front of the former Red Commander; like one would do when showing their loyalty to a King - or a God, in this case.
"It is an honour, to be before you like this. Please, allow me to worship you."
Even if he died, he would not complain about his end – not when he had been witness to something so magnificent.
"Genesis." Keiko's smile, though faint, is loosened tonight by not only multiple cups of wine, but a merriment so great that even existing on its peripheries permeates down into her very bones. She still does not know what to make of their most unusual companion, of his darkest urges - the pieces of him she fears, and the rest she can understand all too well, no matter how differently or distantly. After all, she knows firsthand just how difficult good intentions can be to keep alive amidst a sea of violence. Good intentions will never undo the past, but they had helped to save countless more innocent lives tonight.
Regardless of any lingering uncertainty, the celebratory spirit of the night wins out; Keiko does not send Genesis away from her hideaway at the forest's edge. All that sits between them as he joins her is a near-finished goblet of wine and the half-empty bottle it came from, both illuminated by the campfire’s distant glow. "How does it feel, being hailed a hero? I’d imagine it’s as new a sensation for you as it is for me." // @cryogenicmuses + plotted starter!

Enigmatic as always, Kafka's presence often heralds the imminent approach of turbulent yet pivotal times ahead. There's no telling what she's here for or how long she'd stay. But one thing is for certain: She carries with her the faint lingering fragrance of roses each time.
And it is this familiar scent that greets them first before she does, easily sliding into the vacant seat by the drink lounge without a care in the world.
"My, how glum you look. Why are you here moping by yourself?"
@cryogenicmuses - some random opening up at camp with Lae'zel!
Terra had done her very best to be nearly invisible while listening to the other companions discuss their opinions and trying to learn from them; she had refused to fight, but she was happy to find supplies, take care of the pets, and retrieve objects, and had almost thought she'd get away with her pacifist ways until the camp had been attacked and the dog had been in danger. She had let her magic spread, her body glowing and the enemies disintegrating before her eyes, leaving the group to stare at her.
Later, she ate in silence until she felt the need to address it to Lae'zel, who had always been almost a comforting figure to her, because of her unwavering determination and strength. Even if she was almost sure Lae'zel hated her for her lack of determination and unwillingness to fight. "I do not wish to be a weapon," she blurted out, "I don't have many memories of my past yet, but they keep coming back to me... and I was forced to kill. Forced to fight. Over and over. Until my body wasn't my own. Now that it is... Now that it is, I want to choose. My fight is with the man who took control of me. And I will not become what he wants me to be. That is the only thing I really know about myself. Does that make sense to you?"
@cryogenicmuses / the second coming | FROM
"i haven't forgotten shit," dark growls, pressing a hand against second's chest. he's barely able to get a grip over himself, fighting against every bit of programming that is screaming at him to destroy. he DOESN'T want to destroy second though, not yet. "it's not even them i care about right now, unless they interfere."
"how'd you do it?" dark asks, prying his hand back. dark's ignoring how much his hand is trembling right now. he really needs a drink or something. or at least, to take several steps back before second grows a brain and attempts a second murder. "i thought you were useless. so how'd you do it? you still look useless to me, and i'm willing to take my chances that you won't attack me right now."
taking a step back, he rubs his hands together, before touching his wristbands. for some reason, making sure they're still there provides some sense of comfort, though not enough to settle his nerves. this entire situation had been a bad idea to begin with. this idiot kid clearly has no idea what he's doing.
"and what's going on between you and chosen? why did he bring you back home, huh? what makes you so important in the first place?"
