ShinRa was in shambles. Sleipnir found it interesting to watch them fall about over their own mistake. Why, Genesis had been one of theirs and when he defected, they simply tried to cover it up – wanting to hide their sins.

And now their decision was backfiring on them. Sleipnir wasn't surprised to be sent on an emergency mission to 'take out' the 'traitor', though what they believed he could do against Genesis was beyond him. He was skilled, yes, but he knew how to choose his battles. This was not one he believed he could win, but at this point ShinRa doing what they could to stall for time.

Even so, Sleipnir had went – not because of his loyalty to ShinRa, but because of his sheer curiosity.

And oh, what a sight Genesis made. Sleipnir wasn't sure he had ever seen anything more beautiful than this.

"You are stunning," the words were surprisingly genuine, coming from Sleipnir. He was meant to stay hidden and observe, but that had become futile the moment he felt Genesis' power.

Moving forward, he bent onto one knee in front of the former Red Commander; like one would do when showing their loyalty to a King - or a God, in this case.

"It is an honour, to be before you like this. Please, allow me to worship you."

Even if he died, he would not complain about his end – not when he had been witness to something so magnificent.

"Genesis." Keiko's smile, though faint, is loosened tonight by not only multiple cups of wine, but a merriment so great that even existing on its peripheries permeates down into her very bones. She still does not know what to make of their most unusual companion, of his darkest urges - the pieces of him she fears, and the rest she can understand all too well, no matter how differently or distantly. After all, she knows firsthand just how difficult good intentions can be to keep alive amidst a sea of violence. Good intentions will never undo the past, but they had helped to save countless more innocent lives tonight. 

Regardless of any lingering uncertainty, the celebratory spirit of the night wins out; Keiko does not send Genesis away from her hideaway at the forest's edge. All that sits between them as he joins her is a near-finished goblet of wine and the half-empty bottle it came from, both illuminated by the campfire’s distant glow. Enigmatic as always, Kafka's presence often heralds the imminent approach of turbulent yet pivotal times ahead. There's no telling what she's here for or how long she'd stay. But one thing is for certain: She carries with her the faint lingering fragrance of roses each time.

And it is this familiar scent that greets them first before she does, easily sliding into the vacant seat by the drink lounge without a care in the world.

"My, how glum you look. Why are you here moping by yourself?"

if Leon was a popsicle, what would he taste like?

Leon would be something with lemon in it... actually, yeah. Committing fully to that thought.

There wouldn't be any extra sugar added, it's the kind of lemon that really punches your taste! If you're not expecting it you would probably reel back like WHOAH. Though it's the good kind of hit where you want to go back in for more, and if it's too much you consider if you can just put it into a blender with a bit of fruit juice or something to cut through the intensity.

Sea Salted Limoncello. Lemon juice, a bit of lime juice, and the only thing to cut through the sweetness is the base being like a coconut cream instead of water. Intense flavour for an intense guy!

"i haven't forgotten shit," dark growls, pressing a hand against second's chest. he's barely able to get a grip over himself, fighting against every bit of programming that is screaming at him to destroy. he DOESN'T want to destroy second though, not yet. "it's not even them i care about right now, unless they interfere."

"how'd you do it?" dark asks, prying his hand back. dark's ignoring how much his hand is trembling right now. he really needs a drink or something. or at least, to take several steps back before second grows a brain and attempts a second murder. "i thought you were useless. so how'd you do it? you still look useless to me, and i'm willing to take my chances that you won't attack me right now."

taking a step back, he rubs his hands together, before touching his wristbands. for some reason, making sure they're still there provides some sense of comfort, though not enough to settle his nerves. this entire situation had been a bad idea to begin with. this idiot kid clearly has no idea what he's doing.

"and what's going on between you and chosen? why did he bring you back home, huh? what makes you so important in the first place?"

he doesn't expect the soft pat to his back. part of him is half part starved for the memory of touch and the other is full of memories of every cycle he has and has not touched and lost something. be it from or out of his hands. sometimes it's easier to simply visit the astral express; to linger here, in the party car and offer pom-pom his services while he 'visits'. ignoring the longing that burns hotter than the resting divinity in his chest. 

there's a slight pause from his posture, still and shoulders worn, fondly tracing with his fingers against the window pane the slow, lazy swirl of a star falling outside. his breath is hitched, face lit with a shy, almost boyish wonder for someone now, much older than most stars. but there he is, eyes wide and fresh faced at the image of them. enough that the cosmos is now visible in front of his eyes, is something he can experience too. 

" haha...thank you. perhaps i was in need of one. " might be one of the biggest of understatements, but then he turns, eyes a bit more ancient than they should be. bright with a boyish wonder that couldn't quite seem to die. phainon smiles at the source of a generous comfort.

11. If you could recommend one game or one book, what would it be?

All about the mun || Accepting!

I have to say Code Vein! It's so underrated and not taken seriously just because it's 'Anime Dark Souls'. Sure it has its cheesy and cliche moments, but the story is still compelling to me and constantly makes me want to find out what happens next. Just gotta beat this boss that's been kicking my behind for the umpteenth time! Difficulty level is just nice for me. You could bring a NPC partner along or go solo to make it more challenging.

A sequel released early this year, which caught fans by surprise, with more combat features and more tragic tales! The plot is completely separate and unrelated to the first game, so both could be considered its own standalone story.

But the main selling point of this game is the massive character creation! Even more advanced and detailed in the sequel! A considerable chunk of my playtime is on that alone lol.

Graphic/art difference between Code Vein 1 & 2:

TL;DR: If you like JRPG with action, drama and camaraderie plus super detailed character customization, you might enjoy Code Vein.

Another adjustment of his uniform and Leon found himself scowling. He hadn't exactly asked for this. The US military headhunted him after his extraordinary tale of survival — but he hadn't been offered a damn thing. He had to join, back to the wall, gun to Sherry's head.

The kid deserved more than becoming some bargaining chip. Hadn't she been through enough?

If he had only been asked, he would have leapt into the opportunity presented to him. Though that would imply freedom. Which meant the freedom to quit when his intensive training went beyond hard, bordering impossible.

Sure, he was pissed. Angry. Absolutely furious. But he wasn't the only one who found himself backed into a corner.

Snow hinted he hadn't been given a choice either. That is he could have said no, technically speaking. But only at the expense of someone he cared about. Leon supposed that must be Serah.

Speak of the devil — Snow looked chipper as usual. "Ugh." Leon almost rolled his eyes. It was like being greeted by a golden retriever and he was in a shit of a mood. "How are you smiling?"
