Cryptid Concept #1
Cryptids have a natural ability/trait, evolutionary or not, that interferes with electricity or technology. This explains why, even with the super HD cameras we have these days, cryptid videos and pictures are still low quality and glitchy. Since non-digital cameras didn’t work with as much electricity or technology as they do now, they were a bit clearer*.
Some cause more intense interference than others, discarnate entities such as ghosts, poltergeists, and the like having the strongest effect, though this may also be attributed to them having to siphon energy from technology in order to manifest in some fashion, but not always. Even their mere presence causes issues with cameras, audio equipment, lights, etc.
*((Or at least, were interfered with differently, as I haven’t seen that many vintage cryptid photos)).
