designed irl avery and derek for my fanfic an inverted vessel just so i have something to imagine while i'm writing them
design notes:
derek's design was partly inspired by this animation
i went with the ethnicity hcs i've seen being thrown around in the fandom most often, combined with wifies's q&as - avery is filipino/sea, derek is mixed black/german. if i messed something up in depicting either one, please tell me so i can fix it
derek hasn't had a haircut in months. avery usually cuts his own hair
both of them have bits of yellow in their eyes - derek has rings of gold, avery's left eye is just straight up yellow. this shouldn't be the case because they don't have any yellow pigment in their eyes but the horrors do not care about the laws of physics
