Pokemon Card of the Day #1685: Crystal Wall (Boundaries Crossed)

If White Kyurem EX was going to get an Ace Spec that was a Pokemon Tool, it made sense that Black Kyurem EX would as well. Crystal Wall, when attached to Black Kyurem EX, raised that Pokemon’s maximum HP to 300. This was an absurd amount to say the least, and only very strong decks could take that down in even two hits. Many needed 3 or 4.

While there was a good Black Kyurem EX in the Plasma Storm set, it was based purely on offense. Its job was to attack for an absurd amount of damage while discarding Energy and then switch out right afterward. Focusing that sort of deck on quickly setting up and dealing damage was more important than turning an attacker into more of a tank. Therefore, while the concept was good, there were better ways to use the one Pokemon that was compatible with Crystal Wall.
