Quiet footsteps and the sound of a soft voice pulls him away from the words scattered across the parchment of the scroll in his hands; he hadn't realized how late it had gotten, but as he looks around him, he's realized that the candles are nearly burnt out.
It happens frequently, that he gets caught up in the work laid beforeh him, maps and histories long forgotten, in a language that hardly anyone had any knowledge of. "Hakuei.."
He's thankful for his cousin, knowing that if it wasn't for her stopping by, he would have stayed there well into the early hours of the morning. Carefully, he rolls up the scroll before placing it in the drawer of his desk for later. "I suppose it has gotten quite late."
