another saviour complex character??? this is such a massive win. to me.

i love that she shows no hostility towards fakesaw man either, even when he's getting in the way of her objectives. she sees him as the doomed person that he is, even when the fire devil has peeled back his humanity and the church has used him as nothing but a weapon and a pawn. assuming her feelings are real and Not an act, we haven't seen a horseman show this much unconditional empathy before ? i'm quite happy with it!!

my first instinct was to go "?!!?!!???!? why is he built Like That" but honestly it's quite cool that he doesn't look that much like denji's devil form anymore!!! it's like the chainsaw man church warped not only public perception of csm, but also the literal physical form that people are seeing now. his image has been fundamentally changed in all possible ways, and he's become a heavily distorted, almost unrecognisable attempt to embody the public figure some people loved. any human part of his appearance has disappeared. you wouldn't think it's "the same person" if it weren't for the chainsaws, and even they are distorted. his helmet looks melted. clearly, someone's fire devil contract isn't working out so good :')

if the new girl really is death, then this really cements the idea that yoru and fami are the main antagonists of part 2. if asa's warning isn't taken seriously, denji (very obviously manipulated by yoru) and the chainsaw man church (orchestrated by fami and partly managed by the fire devil) may be the ones to bring humanity's demise after all. death is not the real enemy here.
