Character design pose I did for a class. An anthropomorphic fox named Oswyn who’s story takes place in the year 1600. This is during the time when art styles in Italy were starting to become more Baroque from the Renaissance. Born in Florence which at the time was part of the Duchy of Tuscany then raised in England. As he’s a current apprentice a dame (kinghtress) named Anastasia, both are sent to Florence to defeat an evil demonic vampire named Gasparo to stop him from taking over monarchies and other regions across the European continent.
Oswyn however isn’t great with swordsmanship nor fighting as he’s quite the clumsy type. Hell he even trips on rocks and falls in horse feces while walking down the streets. As what’s actually about to happen in this particular pose. He is worthy for the journey though as he’s skilled with his actual passion in geography, navigating and exploration which becomes beneficial when travelling with Anastasia.
This was colored on Adobe Illustrator back in Summer of 2015. Arg I was quite frustrated with his left boot as at the time I couldn’t figure out the perspective. Getting better since though.
