Merger teaching Otto noodling(hand fishing) while on a remote planet near wild space.
When Merger had offered to teach Otto how to hand fish, the eight year old kid(physically sixteen) was ecstatic. And after his older brother(physically twenty-three) had shown him the basics, Otto went into the water enthusiastically. After watching Otto flail in the water for an unimaginable amount of time with a huge purple alien catfish, Merger got tired and, after telling Otto "good try, you'll get 'em next time" and "now, move out of the way", he just started shooting the fish with his blaster until there was a sufficient amount floating to feed seven hungry men. Otto was appalled because Merger had given him a whole lecture about the sacredness of nature and how they "had to respect the fish in order to catch it". He repeated some of this to his brother but Merger only responded with a slight smirk and "you didn't really believe any of that bantha poo-doo, did you? I was just repeating what I heard one of 'em Jedi say once, I wasn't being serious!" Otto only looked at him incredulously. But when Merger broke out into laughter at the sight of the kid's face, so did Otto. Thus, with the mood properly lightened, they carried the fish to camp together and the entire team enjoyed a fresh meal and a hilarious story.
