Glitch the game, 2012
Any fellow Glitchen out there?
A little update on my hunting for Cubimals. By the way, I played Glitch under the same name, Dengo Pimpernel.
This is my growing collection of Cubimals. Now I am a regular visitor to Gatcha flee markets. You can guess I miss Glitch a lot!
Thank you to spunsugar for this!
What are cubimals for?
Cubimals are wind-up toys that you can race with other players. They are collectible, with some being very common (such as butterflies, chicks, and pigs) and others quite rare (rook, Rube). They don't "do" anything else, but there are a handful of perks beyond "cubimals are cuuute":
1. Each new cubimal (or any item, really) you hold gives you experience points if it's new to you.
2. There's a trophy for having all of them.
3. The cubimal boxes, unopened, can be sold for a lot of currants (they're valued at 5000 currants); this is useful if you get them from a source other than a vendor.
4. The cubimal boxes, unopened, are a fast and easy way to convert currants into favor; just buy them and toss them into shrines. Or as donation fodder during rook attacks.
Aside from the "practical" aspects, cubimals are fun and, as previously mentioned, cute! It's fun opening the boxes to see what's inside, and they are nice gifts for friends.
Cubimals can be purchased at toy vendors for 5000 currants; additionally, sometimes you can get them in trades with the Rube or as a game show prize. Toy vendors also sell a cubimal case for 500 currants; the case holds 16 cubimals. There are 23 total cubimals, but you will not mind the extra space--you'll have plenty of duplicates of the commoner ones!
Cubimals do NOT give favor if donated, and they cannot be sold to vendors or on auction. People do trade with others in person, often advertising in forum posts or in trading groups. Prices vary, but the rarest ones can occasionally fetch six-figure prices.
