A little animation test of a little flying goldfish-cuttlefish-looking alien species called Cudlups I’ve had on the back burner since last year!

The idea for them is that they’re artificial companion animals made for early zero/low gravity space travel. They float around being friendly, harmless, low maintenance, and fairly useless (although they can be trained to fetch and carry but that’s about it). They’re incredibly light and full of buoyant gasses, but their mobility is affected by thickness of the atmosphere and the level of gravity present.

Look at me! For once I’m working on my own stuff again, and it’s high-time poor Malkul got some new reference material.

I considered just updating his Fantroll reference... but really, I’ve wanted to do actual profile stuff for his Myriaverses versions for ages but never had the oomph to do it. In the end, I figured “you know what? What about I COMBINE THEM INTO ONE REF”, and so, that’s what I’m doing. Also makes it much easier to show his variants off! Uh... also just so you guys know, polkan Malkul SHOULD have clothes but I haven’t drawn them in yet wheeze I’m still figuring out how polkans do clothing.

Also added the image on the bottom in case you guys wanted a rough idea of how tall Mal is nowadays. Regardless of context, he’s in the midst of a growth spurt. Uh-oh.

Trying to get used to fireAlpaca by doodling Summer, aka a character you don’t really see because he’s a self indulgent alien jackalope man. 

Fun fact, in his canon, his parents were Goddam Furries™* who edited their genetics using the Power of Science, and when they ended up having kids, naturally the end results were all hodgepodges of furry and regular old alien. The future probably needs a support group for ‘furries by birth’ huehuehue. The actual base species has some cephalopod traits going on.

Oh! Also he’s a dreadful hippie who belongs more in the 70s than in a scifi. He uses his setting’s science knowhow to create custom plants, mainly orchids. He makes most of his living selling them.

*obvs I like/am neutral about furries no worries.
