This particular piece took me many hours, but I'm very proud with the result. It was made in collaboration with other artists for this Zine. I wasn't certain what to do at first until it was suggested to me to draw cufflinks. I hadn't drawn a metal texture in ages, which worried me a bit. As this project had a deadline and I did not have time to do any practice exercises. I did however watch an hour long video tutorial on metals and studied the references I used closely. I stil think the metal looks a tad dull and I could definitely improve with it, for my first attempt at a semi-realistic metallic surface I am quite proud of my results. The icon and engravings in the cufflink I also designed myself. Which again was something I am not very practiced with. However here I did feel more like I knew what I was doing and had a clear goal in mind to work towards. I designed it in a separate document, adding and removing from the silhouette and trying out many variations of shapes and embellishment until I got something I liked. The engraving in the circle pattern was quite challenging still, I wanted everything to be symmetric and clean. And making nice looking patterning is a lot more tough than it seems. The symbols I also designed myself. Which I am also quite proud off as I think they turned out looking really neat. Al in all it was a big drawing project and I'm proud of the result and happy to share it now the Zine is completed.
