The Inquisitor insists that Cullen continue taking lyrium but when the Inquisition is disbanded, Cullen is cast aside. That’s where Anders finds him.

One-sided: DAO Templar Cullen is smitten with apprentice Anders, going out of his way to make sure no harm comes to Anders while he’s in Kinloch Hold. Cullen likens Anders to a caged bird, torn between wishing freedom for Anders and feeling selfishly content when Anders is caught after an escape.
Dark!Cullen: DAO Templar Cullen becomes obsessed with apprentice Anders and is the driving force behind sending Karl away.
CW noncon: Knight-Captain Cullen can keep templar patrols away from Darktown... for a price. HURT THE MAGE! HURT THE MAGE!
CW abuse (not between them) with hurt/comfort: Cullen is suffering due to abuse from his superiors (including Meredith) and doesn’t know where to turn to for medical assistance. Until he hears about a healer in Darktown. Anders is wary at first, but then he realizes Cullen genuinely needs help.
Sex Worker Anders: something something something, Cullen is one of Anders’ regulars at the Blooming Rose.
DAO to DAI: Cullen and Anders were lovers during DAO, until the events at Kinloch Hold spit them apart. Later, in DAI, the Inquisitor brings a certain blonde mage before them for judgement. Cullen steps in to stop the execution of the one he once loved.
Post-Trespasser Hurt/Comfort: Unromanced Anders, who was sent away by Hawke at the end of DA2, stumbles over Cullen who was forced back onto lyrium by the Inquisitor after the events of Trespasser. Anders helps him battle his addiction that has nearly taken his life.
He’s only after one thing…the abomination that got away!

I started drawing Cullen and it got away from me, so have this. So many parts of it keep cracking me up and at some point I might attempt to write something resembling a fic on the premise.

Do Cullen and Anders
Mmm Anon you know me so well.
Who is a night owl: Anders, because he certainly does more of his work in the evening and night.
Who is a morning person: Cullen, though he’s known to sleep in a little when the nightmares rob sleep from him. He’s got that soldier schedule that wakes him early, but Anders is happy when he sees that Cullen is getting some much needed extra rest.
Are they cuddlers: The couch is their designated cuddle spot, since sitting on it makes cuddling fair game (also it’s probably the only piece of furniture they own that can hold two people). I imagine they don’t cuddle as much in bed.
Who is the big spoon and who is the little spoon: They switch, but I think Anders likes spooning Cullen more than being spooned by him.
What is their favourite sleeping position: Cullen sleeps flat on his back, and Anders flip-flops between on his side against Cullen, curled up, or on his stomach.
Who steals all the blankets: Anders steals the blankets most of the time, but Cullen doesn’t mind. Plus he’s gotten used to pulling a little on the blankets and smiling when Anders lessens his grip on them, unconsciously giving back Cullen’s share even when he’s asleep.
What they wear to bed: If it’s wintertime, Cullen wears loose pants and a shirt, though sometimes he’ll lose the shirt. He feels more comfortable and less vulnerable when wearing clothes. Anders will sleep in whatever the mood strikes him--shirtless, pantsless, naked in contrast next to Cullen’s completely clothed body lmao. Anders is known to answer the door in just a sheet, and Cullen throws pants at him.
Who likes seeing the other wearing their t-shirt: Cullen’s shirt just barely covers Anders’ ass and its A+++ perfection. That man’s a vision and it makes Cullen want to invite Anders back to bed so he can strip the shirt off him.
Who falls asleep mid-conversation: Anders does, because he’s a constantly tired man, and Cullen just pulls the blankets over the both of them and settles in for sleep.
Who wakes up in the middle of the night with nightmares: Cullen, because those memories from the Circle and Kirkwall remain fresh for far too long. Anders does occasionally, but there’s just something about having someone he loves in his bed that settles his mind considerably.
Who accidentally punched the other in their sleep: Cullen thrashes in his sleep, so I can imagine that’s woken up Anders many times. However, Anders knows a good sleep spell and uses it to ease Cullen’s nightmares when he can. Of course, they’ve discussed this before, since Cullen probably wouldn’t appreciate magic being used on him against his consent.
Who can’t keep their hands to themself: Anders is more handsy but when Cullen needs Anders (either for comfort or for more sensual goals), he asks through touches.
