The Lost Journal of Isaiah: Entry 23
So, when I was walking around the floor today, I decided I wanted to see how Bob the Slug was doing. Not sure how I thought I would know, but I really wanted to see. I got into the room and Bill waited outside the door. Ilene was standing next to the window looking outside. Bob was on the bed, his eyes tracking me as I closed in on him.
He reminded me of a wounded animal. I could see in his eyes how much he was hurting. Every living thing that I have seen, has been able to show the most basic emotions through their eyes. Joy, Fear, Anger, Sadness, Compassion all show so vividly. His fear was obvious, and it hurt to see even from this slug.
After a moment of looking at Bob, I decided to move over to the window and see what Ilene was looking at. I saw the real point of this story. A blue and green planet we must have been orbiting this whole time. A planet with plants, and clouds, and water. Maybe with fresh air. Or Wi-Fi. A planet to dream of exploring.
I stood there with Ilene for hours. Watching the planet turn from day to night. Trying to see signs of life. Looking at the majesty of this planet.
This planet may be a home for us one day.
The Lost Journal of Isaiah: Entry 20
If you've ever seen an Odd Couple-esque TV show, you know there's a basic set-up that goes into all of them. Two people who are completely different have to learn to get along. The neat guy and the slob, or the rich girl and the poor girl, or the brainiac and the athlete. If I ever get back to Earth, I'm going to pitch a one of those shows, but with a slimy alien and a human comrade.
The snarky and handsome human will have to deal with all of the horrible things his alien compatriot has coming after him. The heroic alien will have to deal with the wildly attractive human's strange everyday issues. It will be as if Bill and I were back on Earth. And it's really important that the one who plays me is VERY handsome - so that he can capture my essence.
And the guy who plays Bill will have to have great comedic chops. It's my firm belief that comedic actors are way more capable of conveying heart. Bill has heart. I imagine Jim Carrey or one of the Wayans Brothers.
I've always thought Chris Kattan was really funny...

Another alien lost his mind.
I was taking a walk around the floor; with Bill following close behind. By this point, I has been able to walk daily and was feeling less clunky. The problem, though, was that I was still very slow moving and still fell over too often.
When this two-headed, beaked, sloth-thing burst out of its usually closed door; I feel backwards onto the floor. Bill jumped down to me, and crouched in front. I watched from the floor as this creature loomed towards, then entered, one of the other rooms. With its long arms, it grabbed this little reptilian dachshund alien and ripped it in half like it was nothing. The cry of this tiny alien getting torn was one of the worst sounds I've ever heard.
After the lizard dog was dropped from the two faced creatures hands it grabbed at the tiny alien's roommate. The dachshund's companion was in one way the same kind of push-over. This was a predator vs predator situation, for sure. And the dog's roommate, a spiked and quilled batlike creature, got the drop on his attacker with scary speed.
The fight was Knockout-intense. Dragdown-intense. Captivating. The entire floor was watching after a few minutes; even aliens I hadn't seen leave their rooms once. Destroying beds, sinks, the doorway, a NurseBot, and each others bodies, the two fought so roughly I started to worry they would break through one of the windows. The two-headed one ended it though, by crushing the bat while it was on the ground, in a moment of poor leverage.
That's when Ilene stepped up to the plate. After the fight with the quilled creature, the Double Header was weak and damaged and Ilene was able to calmly slit its throat with one of her legs before returning to her vigil in Bob's room.
Bill helped me up after a moment or so and guided me back to our room.
Maybe I've been here for way too long, but these attacks just feel like they are coming from out of nowhere. This two-headed creature wouldn't even let the nurses enter his room, let alone leave it himself. Something is seriously wrong here.
