See, I was in service to a rich human, Frulvan Glorykeep. Real dumb oaf, but intimidatin' enough to keep the servants in check. The others always sayin' that I ought to be thankin' him for the food, clothes, and roof over my head. 'ppreciate what you have and all that...
But, I was privy to his motives. He treated servants better or worse depending on how much he liked ya'. Unsurprisingly, he did not like my ugly mug and I got shafted.
There's a bright side to this ya' see, cause that neglect gave me ample time to read books. My very favorite...The Great Cthulhu. Sprinkle in a couple years of literary research, add a little elbow grease...AND presto! I was able to contact Cthulhu and make a deal.
Ended up killing Frulvan during the exchange. Not out of spite mind you, but to truly 'ppreciate what Cthulhu gave me. I left that noble household lickety-split and struck out on my own.
