You've given me an Inspiration(TM): Max is one of the last surviving test subjects, surviving by the skin of his teeth under the control of Computer David. Max is just another kid trapped in the backwater hell that is Camp Campbell, stuck with Counselor David. Subject Max has recurring dreams about Camper Max. Camper Max can't shake this weird sci-fi dream he's been having. As the dreams become more vivid, reality blends with nightmares and both Maxes lose track of which of them is the real one.

Boy this Portal AU sure is getting surreal

@cunzy4 Well there's one entry for sure left. After that I'm going to be taking a bit of a break. I've gotten burned out on series similar to this before and the end result is bitterness on my part and dissatisfaction on the parts of other people who had hoped for more. It's exhausting writing a series like this, especially one so dark. I do have vague plans to come back to the series down the road, but I've got other projects to work on. I'm so glad people have enjoyed it, but a LOT of people have been forced to drop it or never pick it up because of the subject matter and I do try to keep my subject matter varied. XD

Hmm...well, I’ve let everyone else know this much, at least: Ford’s time under Cipher’s control is on a time limit. When he gets six tails -- the same number a Vulpix has -- not long after that, he and the rest of his family are rescued from Cipher’s control. I’ve written up to 3 tails, so we’re not too far from that point in time.

We’ve already seen who rescues them -- at the end of Chapter 4, when Ford awakens rather abruptly from his night terror, there’s a girl who comes in that Ford refers to as “the Guildmaster.” That’s who rescues him specifically; I’ll leave the “how” up in the air for a little while longer (unless someone can guess how they leave Cipher’s control!)

I’m putting more snippets from that future into the fics. You should see another glimpse of the Guildmaster in...Chapter 14. But also Chapter 12, which will be up as soon as my beta-reader works up the mental stamina she needs to read and curse Cipher’s existence to the Void where he belongs.

THE PLOT THICKENS!!! From a fellow writer's standpoint, I hope the next chapter isn't going to be Gaster rehashing the events of the previous chapter to the other characters. That's a pet peeve of mine. Hope the boys are safe and sound!!! (Although, again from a writer's standpoint, I hope they're not TOO safe and sound... :3)
