Chronic pain is so funny sometimes because why am I creating gadgets around my pain

Anyone else notice how Tagah's airbending form here is identical to the form used to lightning bend?

(Zuko is hit by Tagah here in the same location Azula hit him in, btw) A direct, close range hit from this form in specific is an almost guaranteed death too. Tagah kills the gaang with this form like how Azula killed Aang. Being shot point blank with the technique pretty much insta killed them

It's the same charge, same stance, same speed, same precision, same level of lethality

I wonder if lightning bending is originated in airbending the same way lightning redirection is originated from waterbending. If you think about it scientifically it kind of makes sense. Lightning is (simply) a large energy release that generates heat. Airbenders release energy as apart of their bending and firebenders draw from the inner flame.

Combining energy release with the inner flame must be something that was done at some point, I wonder if that's how lightning bending came to be. Tagah's energy can be redirected the same lightning can too

Dude shoots at Aang and Aang just does a huge return to sender back at him. This is still airbending by Aang had to similarly refocus it from himself over to the source such as you do with redirecting lightning

I'm really interested in the possibility of ancient airbenders creating the forms used by other elements now. Tagah airbends like a firebender does throughout the movie if you compare him and Aang side by side. Yes waiter more air nomad lore because this whole concept of airbenders being the root of all forms is really tickling my brain
