[M] You have to shoot a photo between 8pm and 12am. No artificial lighting can be used and you should not be able to see the sun.
This photo was taken at 11:45pm, and the only source of light is that pictured.
[A] about anecdotes and nostalgia
To me the combination of night + sparklers to me connotes childhood, celebrations and the stories shared at such events. It is the excitement of being allowed to stay up past your usual bedtime, and the pure joy of celebration and pyromania sparklers. Anecdotes are exchanged about the year about to end/the person whose birthday is being celebrated/the house that has just been moved into. The smell of a burnt sparkler is something that always brings me right back to these moments.
[T] the title of the work has to feature the word ‘title’
Whilst the title is somewhat in jest, I also feel that the ‘Untitled’ photograph makes reference to the stories and anecdotes we share with each other offhandedly, which may never be told again or will not spread far, but are, regardless, a part of our memories.
