Careful what you wish for
Was thinking about Precure, and how when I was watching Alamode, i initially thought Rio would end up the sixth ranger of the team. (I wonder if this played into Parfait being my least favorite of the season?)
So, I decided to do my own take on ye old "Cure Waffle" idea. And because we love putting boys in skirts in this household, mine matches the others a bit more closely then most depictions~!
Also, for the animal motif the kira kira cures have, I was initially going to make Rio a horse like his sister, then got a better idea. his mask, the feathers in his hair, and the cape all present in his Julio alter ego always gave me bird vibes, so I made him a peacock! I think it fits with his large ego and tendency to show off!
