Pray for Jeremy

For anyone who does not know me personally, this is me and my boyfriend Jeremy. We have been dating since February 17th, 2012. He is currently battling with a bad case of Acute Myeloid Leukemia, he was diagnosed last weekend and at the time he was diagnosed, the prognosis was not looking good. His condition has since improved, but he remains heavily sedated. When he first checked into the hospital he was more alert, squeezing my hand, winking at me, and writing me notes on a notepad because he could not talk due to tubes in his mouth which are basically keeping his lungs going. When he got to the hospital, they mis-diagnosed him with Pneumonia because it was hard for him to breathe.

As it turns out, his lungs are filled with blood, the bleeding due to Leukemia. As his condition worsened, they decided to perform a bone marrow biopsy on him, thus diagnosing him with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. As any concerned/scared girlfriend would, I stayed at the hospital for 6 days and nights sleeping on a tiny couch and getting up at all hours of the night to sit in Jeremy's room and hold his hand for as long as I could.

Jeremy is currently at the stage in his leukemia that he is getting very swollen and large from the chemo and everything that is going into his body through the IV. It is very difficult for me to see the guy I love and adore go through something this painful. If I could trade places with him and be the one lying in the hospital bed, I would do it in a second. Although I would rather trade places with Jeremy, I am asking that you take a minute to trade places with me. It's weird hearing my boyfriend's name in a prayer instead of waking up to his good-morning texts. It's weird seeing a bloated and swollen version of the body and face that is regularly and still is perfect and handsome.

And his clothes have stopped smelling like him

Although he is receiving chemotherapy and his health is improving in small amounts, to put it into perspective, on a scale of 1-100, 1 being dead and 100 being a perfectly healthy 19 year old boy, Jeremy is a 4. Not a 40, a 4. This is the concerning part. This battle is and continues to be VERY difficult and Jeremy can use ALL the prayers and support he can get. Even if you are not religious, just wishing well on him and keeping him in your thoughts and heart can help. Jeremy is a kind and caring person, and the MOST thoughtful and sweetest guy I have ever met. He has brought nothing but smiles and laughs to the faces of EVERYONE he has ever spoken to. Just his existence in my life is a blessing and I can't bear the thought of losing him.

Even if you do not know Jeremy or I, if you are at all affected by this story I am asking that you please pray for Jeremy because cancer is ruthless, but we do not have to be. If you want to support Jeremy in his battle with cancer, you can wear something orange to remind you to think of Jeremy and keep him in your heart while he is going through this terrible time. Jeremy and I do EVERYTHING together and I love Jeremy so much and he is the most special person in my life, if you know Jeremy you probably know that he is charming and friendly in every aspect of his personality. He deserves and needs many prayers and a lot of support so please, pray for Jeremy.
