A question I’m curious about.
And it’s not to start a fight or get anyone’s hate -but if it happens, I guess it is what it is.-
But how do people feel about people who don’t like the LGBTQ+ community and everything surrounding it? Do you think people are allowed to like/dislike what they want?
Now, I’m not talking about people who actively fight against the rights of anyone; or deliberately go out of their way to hate/show distaste. I’m talking about people who “tolerate” it, or “keep it to themselves” but internally they’re not a fan. They don’t fight for anyone to lose their rights.
I’m just very curious. I grew up in a very judgmental home and I won’t deny, for a long time in my youth I was against so many things. My parents also grew up very “conservative(?)” so they of course decided to continue the bigotry.
It took me til probably my early 20s to really realize what I was taught was insane and backwards beyond all belief. Yet I’ve discussed with some people from older generations who say they just don’t like anything affiliated with LGBTQ+. They don’t actively fight against them, but internally they’re not a fan. They still help them as human being to human being, but they don’t like it as if they didn’t like a particular color or food.
I’ve also discussed with other people who say they MUST like them. That even in their own minds, they must like everyone and everything. No exceptions!
I for one find that kind of thinking crazy tbh. And I find it only worsens situations. If I don’t like pasta -and on god that’s a lie 😂😂- but for example, if I don’t like it. I wouldn’t order it for myself/eat it etc.
However, if I went out to eat and someone wanted pasta, I wouldn’t say they couldn’t have the pasta. I’m not fighting for pasta to be banned, nor am I saying the sight/knowledge of pasta existing makes me angry etc.
I just personally don’t like it. However if I’m with someone who LOVES pasta I would make sure they get all the pasta they could ever want. While still reserving the right to personally dislike it.
Does this make sense?? I’m not saying I’m against the LGBTQ+ or anything, or that I dislike it as I am apart of it. I just wonder how y’all view people who I guess “secretly” don’t like it? 🤔
I hope this makes sense? I dunno. I’m just curious.
Some people irl are too crazy to talk to or they just feel like they’re put on the spot and say wild shit.
